Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Invidious (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cappa Champ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cappa Champ has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mike Invidious's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mike Invidious!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cappa Champ!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Invidious misses with a jab, cross combination.
Invidious looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Invidious throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Champ fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Nice takedown defense from Invidious. No joy for Champ on that attempt.
A punch combination from Invidious misses.
Champ tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Champ shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Invidious but Invidious pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mike Invidious has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cappa Champ.
Invidious keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Invidious misses with the combination.
Champ changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Invidious tries to avoid it but Champ manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Invidious to the ground. Invidious escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Champ fails with a takedown attempt.
Champ looks gassed!

Invidious looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Champ!
Invidious can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Champ is looking to escape.
Champ is looking to improve his position but Invidious isn't that keen on the idea.

Champ is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Invidious tries to control but Champ wriggling away.
Invidious wants to stand but Champ is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Invidious trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Invidious is really struggling to control Champ but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Invidious is standing up, even though he is in mount.
Invidious will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Invidious misses with a series of wild punches.
Champ has his takedown stuffed
and Invidious counters with a one-two to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Invidious misses with a two punch combination.
Invidious throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Invidious tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Champ swivels and escapes.
No joy there for Invidious, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Champ closes this distance looking for a takedown but Invidious circles away.
Champ misses with a takedown attempt

and Invidious counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Champ tries to roll over but Invidious keeps him under control.
Invidious tries to stand but can't do so whilst Champ controls his leg.
Champ is looking to control Invidious's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Champ avoid being mounted?
Champ works his way to full guard. Good work.
Invidious is looking to stand up but Champ won't let him.
Champ looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Invidious wanted to stand there but Champ had control of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Invidious throws a right and a left that both miss.
Invidious pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Invidious fails to land with a series of punches.
Champ shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Invidious counters with a two punch combo.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Champ shoots for a double leg takedown but Invidious sprawls well. He's pushed Champ's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Champ gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Invidious counters with a series of strikes that sends Champ to the canvas! Invidious follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!


Champ is rocked!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Invidious decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Champ, up you get!
Champ is still on wobbly legs! Can Invidious finish him?
Invidious throws a series of punches but Champ moves out of range.

Invidious closes the distance looking for a takedown. Champ stuffs it but Invidious still has hold of him. Invidious picks Champ up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Invidious slams Champ to the floor and that's really hurt Champ - he doesn't know where he is! Invidious throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Invidious!
