Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arco Amon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jimmy Rogers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Arco Amon! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Anni Minnemäki and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice cross by Rogers.
It looks like Arco Amon has been cut. Amon lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Amon tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Amon instigates a clinch. Rogers has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Amon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Rogers is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Amon pulls him back up using the underhooks. Amon lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Amon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Amon lands with a cross. Amon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Rogers tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Amon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Amon misses with an uppercut. Rogers saw that one coming. Amon connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Amon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rogers tries to avoid it but Amon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rogers to the ground. Rogers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Rogers dives in and grabs Amon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Amon pushes down on Rogers's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Rogers. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rogers takes one on the button. Rogers looks to clinch and Rogers takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's one minute gone in the round. Amon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rogers moves away. Rogers fails with the takedown and Amon counters with a head kick. That will keep Rogers thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Amon lands a jab to Rogers's midsection. Rogers is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Amon drives through with a takedown into guard. Amon is looking to work some ground and pound but Rogers has wrist control. Rogers is looking to stand up but Amon isn't so interested in that idea. Rogers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Amon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Rogers keeping moving, preventing Amon from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Amon throws a big right hand that misses. Amon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Amon lands a couple of digs. Amon throws a big right hand that misses. Rogers is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Amon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Amon thows a big elbow that misses. Amon with a flurry of punches that miss. Amon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rogers works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Rogers is breathing heavily. Rogers is looking to stand up but Amon isn't so interested in that idea.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Amon throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Rogers tries to escape but Amon is in control. Amon sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rogers is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Amon scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Rogers to see if he's OK. Amon throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Amon tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Rogers is not content to let Amon control the position. Amon working the ground and pound from side control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Amon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Arco Amon dominated that round. The cut man is working on Arco Amon's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Nice sprawl there from Rogers as Amon shoots in. Amon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rogers feints a jab promting Amon to slip. Rogers then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Amon slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Rogers gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily enabling Amon to counter with a crisp jab. Amon lands a right hook to the body.

Jimmy Rogers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Amon throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Amon tries to sprawl but Rogers drives through with a takedown into half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Amon wants to sweep here but Rogers controlling him for the moment. Amon controlling the position. Amon wants to stand but Rogers is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Amon wants to sweep here but Rogers controlling him for the moment. That's three minutes gone in the round. Rogers pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Amon is keeping the position for now. Rogers trying to control the position from guard on top but Amon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Amon misses with a hook. Rogers ducked under it nicely. Rogers fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Jimmy Rogers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Some wild striking there from Rogers.
Amon jabs Rogers right on the nose. Rogers blinks but takes it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Amon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Rogers avoids the head kick by Amon.
Amon looks to throw the jab but Rogers is out of range. Amon misses with a straight left. Amon connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Amon cracks Rogers with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Amon buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
No joy there for Rogers, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rogers misses with the body kick and Amon counters with a left and a right that stings Rogers. Amon lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Rogers misses with a takedown attempt and Amon counters with a slapping leg kick. Arco Amon seems to be getting the better of the standup. Rogers with a poor takedown and Amon makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Rogers really felt that one! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Arco Amon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Arco Amon's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Rogers closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Rogers moves out of range of the strikes. Rogers pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Rogers tries to bum rush Amon with a series of wild strikes but Amon uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Rogers shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Amon scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Amon thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rogers's head. Amon stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Rogers to get to his feet. Rogers throws an overhand right that lands on Amon's shoulder, as Amon tries to avoid the shot. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Amon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rogers moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Amon throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Amon moves into the clinch.

Rogers misses with a takedown and Amon makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Amon clobbers Rogers with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Amon throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rogers on the side of the head. Amon clinches up against the cage. Rogers blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Amon decides to pull guard. Amon looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Amon keeping moving, preventing Rogers from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Amon wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Amon is on top in guard.
Amon thows a big elbow that misses. Amon with a flurry of punches that miss. Rogers is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rogers is trying to control. Amon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Rogers looks to land a strike but Amon avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Rogers postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Amon wants to sweep here but Rogers controlling him for the moment. Amon keeping moving, preventing Rogers from controlling successfully. Rogers landing with the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Amon lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Rogers! Amon misses with a head shot. Arco Amon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Arco Amon has got the better of the ground game so far. Amon wants to control the pace but Rogers is squirming around nicely. Amon landing shots from mount. Rogers is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Amon sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Jimmy Rogers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Amon throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
And that's the end of the fight! Arco Amon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Amon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
