Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between DJ Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Crazy Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dog comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Fan of Marrizle kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, DJ Penn! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Crazy Dog! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dog throws a low kick, looking for Penn's leg but Penn calmly moves out of range. Dog with a lazy takedown attempt and Penn counters with a nice double leg into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dog is looking to escape. Penn tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Dog trying to control but Penn postures up.
Dog is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dog wants to sweep but Penn has passed to side control! Dog is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Penn tries to stand but Dog is controlling his head. Penn has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dog tries to clinch up and Penn counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Dog manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Penn wants to stand but Dog has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Penn has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Dog tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dog is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Penn is aware though and is defending well. Dog manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Penn manages to get himself to full guard.
Penn is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dog is controlling him. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dog accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Dog passes into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
DJ Penn dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Dog shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Penn is trying to stand.
Dog tries to pass the half guard into mount. Penn knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Dog stalling away here and it's allowed Penn to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Dog wants to control from the top but Penn keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dog throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Penn works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Dog pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Penn is keeping the position for now. Dog drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Penn manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dog has Penn in his guard. Dog is working an open guard so Penn takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Penn tries to clinch up but Dog circles away and keeps his distance. Penn throws a jab but it's blocked by Dog. Dog with a lazy takedown attempt and Penn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Penn connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dog. Dog circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Dog fails with the takedown and Dog takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Dog swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Penn counters with a two punch combo. Dog throws a right hand that misses
and Penn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Dog with a poor takedown and Penn counters with a straight right hand. DJ Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Crazy Dog. Penn fails with an attempt to clinch.
Crazy Dog seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dog swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Penn counters by clinching up. Dog is trying to force a seperation but Penn has the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dog has Penn pressed against the cage, preventing Penn from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Dog leaning his opponent against the cage. Penn stops a takedown attempt from Dog.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Dog's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Dog shoots and misses and Penn counters with a stiff right hand. Dog has his takedown stuffed and Penn counters with a right hand to the body. Dog is breathing heavily. Penn tries to clinch there but Dog circles away.
Penn wants to clinch up but Dog keeps it at a distance. Dog shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Penn counters with a straight right hand. Penn tries to clinch up. Dog falls off balance throwing a combination
and Penn counters with a series of strikes. Dog will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Penn counters with a lovely straight right hand! Dog looks to land a combination. Penn sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Dog throws a left and a right that both miss
and Penn counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Penn breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dog misses with a combination
and Penn counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Penn. Penn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Crazy Dog is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Dog swings widly with a right hand
and Penn counters with a straight right hand. Dog misses with a double jab
and Penn counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Penn clinches. Penn manages to break the clinch.
Dog feints a jab promting Penn to slip. Dog then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Penn slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Penn paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
DJ Penn dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Dog shoots and misses and Penn counters by clinching up. Penn prevents a takedown attempt there.
Dog tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Penn just stands there and leans against the cage. DJ Penn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Crazy Dog. Penn breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Penn tries to close the distance and clinch but Dog swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Dog gets tackled into the cage by Penn. Penn maintains the clinch. Penn lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Dog scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Dog gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Penn counters with a lovely straight right hand! Dog has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Dog there as he acknowledges the shot. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Dog!
Penn is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Dog tried to score with a low kick but Penn checks it. Dog misses with a body punch
and Penn counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dog with a poor takedown and Penn counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Dog takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Dog throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Penn counters with a right hand to the body. DJ Penn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dog takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Dog wants to slow Penn down by chopping away at his legs. Penn tries to clinch but Dog is having none of it. Dog gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Penn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Penn is looking to clinch but Dog is avoiding it.

Dog shoots and misses and Penn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Penn doesn't manage to clinch there - Dog circles away.

Penn is looking to slow Dog down with leg kicks. Dog takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Dog misses with a takedown enabling Penn to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn lands a jab-cross combination. Dog swats away the attempt to clinch by Penn. Penn fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Penn gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Dog wants a takedown but no success here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Penn darts in and clinches Dog up against the cage. Dog has had enough of the clinch but Penn keeps him there for the moment. Penn breaks from the clinch.

Dog falls off balance throwing a combination
and Dog takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
And that's the end of the fight! DJ Penn showed his dominance in that final round. Well Penn has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
