PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Danny Tatum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gunn has chosen England belongs to me as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Ray Gunn!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Richard Clark and James Atkins.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gunn looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Tatum is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gunn's half guard.

Tatum seems to be working for a kimura but Gunn defends the submission attempt.
Tatum is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Tatum drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tatum jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Tatum has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Tatum takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tatum is persistently looking for the submission but Gunn is defending it well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gunn looking very determined here, making life difficult for Tatum.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tatum looking to hold on to the position here but Gunn rolls and ends up regaining guard.
Gunn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tatum. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tatum trying to move into half guard but instead Gunn has managed to sweep!
Tatum bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gunn's guard.

Gunn is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Tatum might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Tatum is trying to control the action in half guard but Gunn is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Tatum works his foot free and advances to mount.
Gunn wants to hold on but Tatum pushes him away.

Tatum is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Gunn can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Gunn stops Tatum from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gunn manages to regain half guard. Good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Tatum's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Tatum avoids a punch combination nicely.

Tatum feints and as Gunn raises his hands in defense, Tatum changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Tatum wants to control from the top but Gunn keeps moving.

Tatum postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gunn is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tatum, into his guard.
Tatum is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Tatum tries to pass the half guard into mount. Gunn knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Tatum frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Tatum wants to control the pace but Gunn is squirming around nicely.

Tatum goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Gunn is on top in guard.
Gunn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Tatum manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Gunn wants to get back to his feet.
Gunn has given up his back. Will we see Tatum going for some submissions?

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tatum lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Tatum is looking to control Gunn but Gunn is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Even with his hooks in, Tatum manages to miss with strikes from the back.
