Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vovochka decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Vovochka is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Monsonde is trying to stand up here but Vovochka is controlling him well.
Vovochka throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Vovochka has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Vovochka scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Vovochka seems to be working for a kimura but Monsonde defends the submission attempt.
Monsonde has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Vovochka is working away from the top position though.
Vovochka thows a huge punch but Monsonde dodges it nicely.

Vovochka maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Monsonde could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Vovochka has cracked it and Monsonde is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Vovochka!
