Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Donnie Yen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tero Taikina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Taikina is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Cookie song. The key to victory for Donnie Yen has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Donnie Yen ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Tero Taikina! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taikina shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Yen napping and manages to drive through into side control! Yen is trying to escape the position but Taikina is controlling the position. Taikina wants to lay and pray for a moment but Yen keeps working. Taikina postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Taikina tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Taikina swings around for an armbar but Yen sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Taikina's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yen wants to pass the guard but Taikina is keeping the position. Yen stopping the sweep attempt from Taikina. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Taikina is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Taikina can do anything to dispel that myth. Yen wants to stand but Taikina has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Tero Taikina. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Taikina crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Yen - the referee stops the clock and Taikina gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Yen . Taikina manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. A head kick misses from Yen . Taikina avoids the head kick by Yen .
Yen lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Yen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Yen lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Taikina avoids the head kick by Yen .
Yen throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Taikina's head. Donnie Yen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Crunch! Yen slams his shin into Taikina's torso. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Yen listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Yen tries to clinch but fails miserably and Taikina counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Yen ! Taikina goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Yen is on top in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yen trying to control the position from guard on top but Taikina is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Taikina holds on and takes a little breather. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Donnie Yen dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Taikina scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Taikina moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Yen wants to get back to his feet but Taikina drags him back down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yen is not content to let Taikina control the position. Taikina thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Yen struggling a bit here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Taikina is trying to get an arm triangle but Yen is defending well. Yen defending against the ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taikina with the ground and pound but Yen regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Yen wants to improve his position but Taikina is controlling well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Taikina is looking for a kimura here.
Yen is defending against the submission attempts here by Taikina.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tero Taikina showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Taikina tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Yen paws at him with a jab and circles away. Yen throws a head kick that misses. Yen throws a head kick that Taikina semi-blocks.
Yen instigates a clinch. Come on Taikina - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Taikina avoids the elbow strike from Yen , against the cage.
Yen lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Yen prevents a takedown attempt there.
Yen looks to throw an elbow but misses. Taikina looking for a takedown. Yen misses with an elbow over the top. Taikina has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Yen regains guard immediately. Yen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Taikina trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Taikina manages to get himself to full guard.
Taikina wants to sweep here but Yen controlling him for the moment. Yen wanted to stand there but Taikina had control of the position. Taikina has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Taikina is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Taikina looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Yen tries to clinch but Taikina is having none of it. Yen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Yen lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. A solid body kick from Yen . Yen uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Taikina has time to react. Yen scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. A solid leg kick lands there for Yen .
Taikina takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The fighters circle momentarily. Yen darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Yen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Tero Taikina is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Yen connects with an inside leg kick. Taikina takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Taikina moves in looking to clinch but Yen pushes him off.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Yen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Taikina walks into a jab. Taikina takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Yen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Yen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Yen jabs at Taikina's body. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Taikina avoids the head kick by Yen .
Taikina takes a shot right to the bread basket. Yen lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
And that's the end of the fight! Donnie Yen showed his dominance in that final round. I think Yen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
