Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dallas Hall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Victor Vaughn!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall shoots and misses
and Vaughn counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Hall falls off balance throwing a combination
and Vaughn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Dallas Hall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hall tries for a takedown but Vaughn circles away easily
and Vaughn counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Hall misses with a takedown
enabling Vaughn to counter with a crisp jab.

and Vaughn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Vaughn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hall moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Vaughn connects with a nice short shot to Hall's temple.
Hall is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Vaughn scores with a couple of nice shots.
Vaughn moves into full mount! Hall won't be happy about that!
Vaughn is landing with some decent strikes but Hall is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Hall is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Hall holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Vaughn tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Vaughn is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Vaughn is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hall has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Vaughn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Vaughn breaks from Hall's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Hall is in a horrible position here. Vaughn smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Vaughn is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Vaughn trying to control but Hall is having none of it.

Hall wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Vaughn.
Hall might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Vaughn looking to control but Hall is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Vaughn lands a nice shot to the head.

Vaughn swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hall is now in Vaughn's guard. A big mistake from Vaughn there, giving up the dominant position!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hall throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vaughn works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Vaughn is stalling here. Hall is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Vaughn seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Hall has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Vaughn has his hands clasped together around Hall's back. He's all about the action.
Vaughn regains full guard. Nicely done.
Hall trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hall throws a strike but Vaughn rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vaughn drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hall manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Vaughn has Hall in his guard.

Hall wants to pass the guard but Vaughn is keeping the position.

Vaughn is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hall defends well.
Hall makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Hall throws and elbow that misses. Vaughn uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hall's guard. Nice move by Vaughn!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vaughn stalling away here and it's allowed Hall to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Hall preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Vaughn is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hall is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hall has escaped and now he's on top!
Vaughn has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Hall slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Victor Vaughn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Vaughn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hall swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Vaughn perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Well Vaughn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
