Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juan Flavier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeshi Akagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Juan Flavier has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Juan Flavier seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Flavier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Takeshi Akagi! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flavier tries for a takedown but Akagi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Flavier shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Akagi manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Flavier stopping the sweep attempt from Akagi. Akagi has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flavier trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Flavier trying to control but Akagi is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Akagi wants to improve his position but instead Flavier has moved into half guard.
Flavier is keen to just control but Akagi is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Flavier is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Flavier wants to free his trapped foot but Akagi is holding on for dear life with his legs. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Flavier is looking for a kimura but Akagi is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Flavier to get the leverage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Juan Flavier dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Akagi does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Flavier is trying hard to land a takedown here. Akagi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Akagi misses with a takedown and Flavier counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Akagi's guard now. Flavier trying to control but Akagi is working from the bottom. Akagi is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flavier thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Akagi wants to hit a switch here but Flavier passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Akagi there! Akagi can't escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akagi defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Flavier.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Flavier working for a submission but Akagi is keeping him at bay. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Flavier wants to finish this one by submission but Akagi is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Flavier. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Juan Flavier dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Akagi throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Flavier decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Akagi's guard. Flavier wants to control from the top but Akagi keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flavier is standing up over Akagi. Akagi looks to escape but Flavier dives into side control.
Flavier goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Akagi has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Flavier but great work by Akagi.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. A lull in the action here as Akagi stalls from top position. Flavier is trying to control Akagi's posture but Akagi avoids it. Takeshi Akagi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Akagi laying and praying for a moment but Flavier takes advantage and regains half guard. Flavier is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Akagi pulls his head out easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akagi is looking to pass Flavier's guard but actually Flavier recovers to full guard. Akagi trying to control but Flavier is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Akagi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Flavier had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Akagi defends it easily. Juan Flavier is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Akagi has gone for a leg lock! Flavier slips out almost immediately though and dives into Akagi's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Juan Flavier showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Flavier, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
