Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between el kelmanoe kel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Asher Edison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edison shoots in but kel avoids the takedown attempt easily.
kel drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
kel decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
kel fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
kel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - kel lands in his opponent's guard.
kel might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
kel trying to control the position from guard on top but Edison is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
kel stands and steps away. Edison gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
kel tries to clinch but Edison moves out of range.
kel shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Edison's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Edison won't allow kel to get back to his feet.
kel is breathing heavily.
kel throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Edison keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of kel's head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Edison thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Edison wants to sweep here but kel controlling him for the moment.

kel is looking to work some ground and pound but Edison has wrist control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Edison looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

kel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Edison on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
kel shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than kel was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
kel tries to control but Edison wriggling away.
kel goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Edison turns into him and now he's in kel's guard.
kel controls Edison momentarily but Edison frees himself.
kel tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
kel decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Still in half guard, kel seems content to control.
kel has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Edison works to full guard.
Edison not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
kel looking to pass the guard.
kel would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Edison is on top in guard.
kel wants to sweep but no luck.
Edison lands a couple of digs.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Edison avoiding kel 's attempts to control his hands.
kel tries to escape but Edison has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
kel breaks Edison's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Edison counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Edison is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Horrible takedown by Edison or perhaps it was just good defense by kel which made him look bad.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

kel shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Edison's guard.

Well kel has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
