Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ashley Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herman van Veen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith drops van Veen with a big left hand and mounts him. van Veen is in big trouble!

van Veen is rocked!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Smith cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
van Veen is still in real trouble! Can Smith finish him?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith wants to stand but van Veen is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
van Veen should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Smith will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Smith trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
van Veen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smith. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
van Veen seems to have recovered his senses.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if van Veen can do anything to dispel that myth.
van Veen tries to hold on but Smith pushes him away.
van Veen looks gassed!
van Veen is working to get back to half guard.

van Veen wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Smith has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. van Veen is defending well but eventually Smith manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! van Veen has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
