The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wrench fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Wallace avoids it really well and circles away. Wrench shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Wallace napping and manages to drive through into side control! Wallace gets back to half guard. Wrench thows a huge punch but Wallace dodges it nicely.
Wrench really is a fat lump. Wallace is looking for a sweep. Wrench is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Wallace is doing well to control the position and prevent Wrench from advancing to side control. Wrench is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Wallace has managed to free his arm - good work. Wrench is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Wrench is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The fighters are battling for position here. Wallace manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wrench trying to control the position from guard on top but Wallace is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Wrench throwing strikes but missing. Wrench wants to control from the top but Wallace keeps moving. Wrench passes easily into side control. Nice work. Wrench thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Wrench throws a strike aimed at the side of Wallace's head but Wallace avoids it well. Wrench misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Wallace is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Wrench throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Wrench is trying to work for a kimura but Wallace is defending well.
Wallace is looking to control Wrench's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wallace avoid being mounted?

That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Wrench looking to pass the guard. Wrench drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wallace manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Wrench has Wallace in his guard. Wallace stays in close to Wrench's body and controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wrench keeping moving, preventing Wallace from controlling successfully. Wallace really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wrench. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wrench looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Wallace might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Wrench kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Steven Wallace. Wallace connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Wrench fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wrench is defended easily by Wallace. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arm Wrench. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wrench is breathing heavily. A telegraphed right hand from Wallace misses the target. Decent striking displayed by Wallace there. Wrench slips a straight right by Wallace. Nice sprawl there from Wallace as Wrench shoots in. Wallace scores with the left hand. Wrench knows he should have avoided that one. Wrench shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Wrench showed some decent athleticism there. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wallace is controlling Wrench's position as best he can from this difficult position. Wrench has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Wrench prevents Wallace from improving his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wrench takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Wallace fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wrench looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. A decent looking cross lands there for Wallace. Wallace scores with a jab to the body. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A shot to the liver by Wallace. Beautiful body shot. Wallace works Wrench's body with a nice hook. Arm Wrench is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Wallace misses with a hook. Wrench ducked under it nicely. Wallace jabs Wrench right on the nose. Wrench blinks but takes it well. A cross from Wallace lands. Wallace throws a looping overhand right but Wrench ducks down to avoid it. Nice straight punches there by Wallace. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Wallace. Jab from Wallace. Wrench takes a body punch but keeps moving. Wrench moves in looking to clinch but Wallace pushes him off. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wallace cracks Wrench with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Wrench moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace lands with a good body shot. Good shot there by Wallace.
Wrench is rocked!
It looks like Arm Wrench has been cut. Wallace waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Wrench. Wallace connects with a body shot. Wallace sends Wrench crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Wallace is motioning to the referee to let Wrench up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet! Oh Wrench is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wallace thuds a left hand into Wrench's body. Wrench seems to have got his legs back now. Wrench moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Wallace connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Wallace drops Wrench with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Wrench looks back up at him and smiles so Wallace waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Wallace misses with a hook. Wallace keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Wallace cracks Wrench with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Wallace has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Wrench to stand back up! Wallace lands an uppercut, right on the button! Wrench tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
