Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Tanknite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Mooney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mooney has chosen Rahu ainult rahu as his entrance music. Tommy Tanknite has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tommy Mooney!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanknite ducks under a wild hook from Mooney.

Tanknite seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mooney for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Tommy Tanknite.
Mooney tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Tanknite holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Mooney tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tanknite smiles and moves away.
Tanknite lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Mooney jumps guard but Tanknite stands there with Mooney around his waist. Mooney gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Tanknite wants the takedown. Mooney is fighting it off but Tanknite persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mooney's guard against the cage.
Tanknite will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Tanknite counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Tanknite has control of Mooney's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mooney regains control of the situation pretty easily.

It looks like Tommy Mooney has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We're going to have a standup here because Tommy Tanknite wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Mooney throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Tanknite shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Tanknite was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
