Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roy Michaels! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Corey Bigs! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Michaels shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bigs as he jumps to the side. Bigs shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Bigs was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Michaels is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Michaels slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Michaels is trying to control but Bigs passes into side control!
Michaels gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bigs prevents Michaels from improving his position. Michaels actively working from the bottom here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bigs prevents Michaels from standing back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Michaels gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Bigs counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Bigs is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Michaels. Michaels tries to get back to half guard but can't. Bigs tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Bigs controls the position. Michaels is looking to control Bigs's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Michaels avoid being mounted? Michaels moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Michaels has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bigs is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Michaels. Bigs takes a little break here. Michaels wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Michaels looks to move to half guard but instead Bigs has passed into mount! Damn! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Michaels shoots and misses so Bigs counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Michaels being controlled here, momentarily. Let's hope that Bigs has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Bigs stopping the sweep attempt from Michaels. Corey Bigs has got the better of the ground game so far. Bigs showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Michaels throws his legs up looking for a submission but Bigs uses it to pass to side control.

Corey Bigs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Michaels looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Michaels is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Michaels gets back to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Roy Michaels showed his dominance in that final round. Well Bigs has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
