Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jes Justiniano! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vic Mackey! The judges for this bout are , and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Justiniano shoots in but Mackey avoids the takedown attempt easily. Mackey rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Justiniano moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mackey misses with a few strikes there.
Justiniano feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Justiniano prevents Mackey from getting back to his feet. Mackey has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Justiniano off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Justiniano throws a jab when Mackey was well out of range. Justiniano shoots in and gets a takedown into Mackey's guard. Justiniano is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Justiniano seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mackey for as long as he can get away with.
That's one minute gone in the round. Justiniano's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Justiniano wants to stand but Mackey is controlling his posture from full guard.
We're going to have a standup here because Jes Justiniano wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. A nice combination there by Mackey.
Mackey scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Mackey lands a jab-cross combination. Justiniano misses the body punch and Mackey counters with a three punch combo that has Justiniano backing up. Justiniano nods at Mackey to acknowledge the strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Justiniano jabbing away but nothing is landing. Mackey lands a jab to Justiniano's midsection. Justiniano connects with a leg kick. Mackey looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Vic Mackey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Justiniano walks into a straight right hand from Mackey. A nice combination there by Mackey.
Justiniano misses with a hook to the body
and Mackey connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. A combination from Mackey does no damage. Mackey scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Justiniano shoots for a takedown but Mackey saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Justiniano showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mackey.

Vic Mackey is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Mackey fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Justiniano bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Mackey is letting Justiniano control him for a moment. Justiniano decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mackey to his feet. Excellent takedown into side control there by Justiniano. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Mackey pushes Justiniano away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Justiniano gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Justiniano decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mackey to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mackey gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Justiniano to score an easy takedown into full guard. Mackey is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Justiniano is controlling him. Justiniano stands up from guard. Let's bang! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Justiniano turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Justiniano tries to clinch up. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Justiniano tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Mackey manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Justiniano looks to score with a jab to the body but Mackey is just out of range. That kick from Justiniano tenderised Mackey's leg. Mackey is trying to keep his angry face on. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jes Justiniano dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Justiniano shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mackey napping and manages to drive through into side control! Mackey is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Justiniano asserts his dominance and retains side control. Justiniano decides to take the fight back to the feet. Justiniano looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Justiniano stands and steps away. Mackey gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Mackey throws a right hand that Justiniano ducks under and follows up with a left that Justiniano also avoids with ease. Justiniano closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mackey is breathing heavily. Justiniano looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Justiniano wants to stand up but Mackey has a hold of him and won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Justiniano seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Justiniano wants to pass to mount but Mackey is defending the position. Justiniano seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Jes Justiniano overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Justiniano throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Justiniano stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Mackey moves out of range as Justiniano strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Mackey swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Justiniano. Justiniano ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mackey moves away. Mackey fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Justiniano works Mackey's body with a nice hook. Mackey lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Justiniano circles away quickly and effectively. Justiniano swings and misses with a shot to the body and Mackey counters with a series of strikes. Justiniano will be more careful next time no doubt. Justiniano throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mackey was covering up waiting for the punch and Justiniano finishes the takedown easily into guard. Justiniano is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jes Justiniano. Justiniano tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mackey was well out of range. Poor timing from Justiniano. Vic Mackey is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mackey gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Justiniano wants to stand but Mackey has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Justiniano stands up and waves to Mackey to follow him.

He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that's the end of the fight! Jes Justiniano showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Justiniano, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
