PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryuzo Fukiko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reuf Reuf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryuzo Fukiko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Reuf Reuf!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fukiko fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Reuf manages to avoid it.
Reuf slips under a jab.
Reuf shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Reuf throws an off balance right hand
and Fukiko counters with a nice body shot.
Reuf scores with a sloppy right hand. Fukiko should have avoided that one.


It looks like Ryuzo Fukiko has been cut.
Reuf throws a right hand that misses
and Fukiko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Reuf keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nice defenses there by Reuf.
Fukiko throws a lazy right hand but Reuf sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Reuf tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Reuf bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Reuf fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Reuf throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Fukiko throws a good cross that connects.
Fukiko misses with an uppercut. Reuf saw that one coming.
Fukiko shoots for a double leg takedown but Reuf sprawls well. He's pushed Fukiko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Fukiko will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Reuf throws a series of punches but Fukiko avoids them all with ease.

Fukiko closes the distance and clinches up with Reuf, looking for a takedown. Fukiko pushes Reuf against the cage but Reuf circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Fukiko is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Fukiko wants to control from the top but Reuf keeps moving.

Reuf wants to get back to his feet but Fukiko is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Reuf wants to get back to his feet but Fukiko is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ryuzo Fukiko.

and Reuf takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Reuf Reuf is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Reuf throws a poor cross that misses
and Fukiko counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Reuf tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Fukiko is able to avoid easily.

Fukiko throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Reuf takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Fukiko displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Reuf throws out the jab.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Reuf looks to land a left hand but Fukiko moved out of range nicely.
Reuf throws a lazy uppercut
and Fukiko counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Reuf looks gassed!
Fukiko fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Fukiko closes this distance looking for a takedown but Reuf circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ryuzo Fukiko will probably get the nod.

That's time! Fukiko's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Fukiko throws a lazy right hand but Reuf sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ryuzo Fukiko is winning the standup battle so far.
Reuf misses the jab.
Some wild striking there from Fukiko.
Reuf ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fukiko moves away.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Fukiko here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Reuf looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Fukiko shoots in for a double leg but Reuf sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Fukiko staying out of range there.
Fukiko clobbers Reuf with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Fukiko keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Fukiko swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Reuf throws a lazy uppercut
letting Fukiko counter with a right hand.
Fukiko throws a combination that misses
and Reuf counters with a straight right hand.
Fukiko walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Reuf thuds a left hand into Fukiko's body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ryuzo Fukiko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Reuf scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Fukiko is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Ryuzo Fukiko's cut is getting worse.
Reuf throws a good cross that connects.
Reuf walks into a stiff left hand from Fukiko.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Reuf punishes Fukiko's body with a nice straight punch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Reuf throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Reuf throws a lazy uppercut
and Fukiko counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Fukiko shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Reuf as he avoids it easily.
Reuf avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Fukiko shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Reuf defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryuzo Fukiko. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Reuf lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Fukiko sprawling to the canvas. Reuf follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Fukiko hang on?

Reuf decides to stand and escape the position.
Reuf throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A punch combination from Reuf misses.
Reuf keeps Fukiko at a distance using the push kick.
Fukiko is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Fukiko on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Fukiko moves forwards but Reuf connects with a nice, crisp jab.


Ryuzo Fukiko's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Reuf throws a shot to the body.
Fukiko tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reuf swivels and escapes.
Fukiko walks into a jab.


Jeez, Ryuzo Fukiko's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Reuf misses with a body shot.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Ryuzo Fukiko's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:06 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Reuf Reuf!
