Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gabriiel Balsama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Chase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balsama wants to clinch.
Jab by Chase.
Chase looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Balsama is looking to improve his position.
Chase thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Chase wants to take a breather but Balsama is having none of it.
Balsama manages to get to full guard.
Chase with a nice head shot there.

Chase really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Balsama. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chase can do anything to dispel that myth.

Balsama tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chase was well out of range. Poor timing from Balsama.
Chase connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Chase circles away from the clinch attempt.
Chase scores with a punch to the head.
Chase throws a right and a left that both miss.

and Chase counters with a shoot takedown. Balsama fights it but they end up in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chase postures up in Balsama's guard and throws a big left but Balsama blocks it.
Balsama wants to get back to his feet but Chase is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chase is in close to Balsama's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Balsama is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Balsama wants to stand up but Chase is controlling him.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Chase scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Chase tries to land a front kick but Balsama steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Chase misses with a double jab.
Chase lands a glancing blow to the side of Balsama's head.
Chase digs a good hook to Balsama's body.

Chase moves in looking to clinch but Balsama pushes him off.

and Balsama takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Chase shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Balsama looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Balsama pushes Chase away with a front kick.
Balsama shoots in looking for a takedown but Chase manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Balsama's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Chase closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Chase lands in his opponent's guard.
Chase must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Balsama instigates a clinch.
Balsama's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

enabling Chase to counter with a crisp jab.

Balsama is pressed up against the cage. Chase has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Balsama down to the mat. Balsama avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Chase takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Nice takedown defense from Chase. No joy for Balsama on that attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Gabriiel Balsama will probably get the nod.
That's time! Balsama's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Balsama moves in looking to clinch but Chase pushes him off.
Balsama misses with a few strikes there.
Chase lands a two punch combo.
Chase lands a nice hook to Balsama's body. Balsama takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Balsama takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Balsama bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
A bit of a lull in the action here.
Chase is pushing Balsama's head away, looking to escape. Balsama manages to hold on to the position though.

Balsama thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Chase tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Balsama easily slips into full mount!

Balsama moves to the back position.
Balsama has the hooks in. Chase is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Balsama gets his hands free as Chase looks to control.
Balsama is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Chase is in bad spot here.
Balsama thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Chase won't enjoy being in this position. Balsama looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Chase is tapping - it's over boys! Balsama picks up the submission victory!
