Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hideaki Katsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Mustaine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mustaine comes into a darkened arena with his song building. This Day We Fight! by Megadeth kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hideaki Katsu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dave Mustaine! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mustaine fails in his attempt to clinch. Katsu staying out of range there. A punch lands to the side of Katsu 's head but he takes it in his stride. Mustaine looks to land a left hand but Katsu moved out of range nicely. Katsu gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mustaine counters with a stiff right hand. Mustaine wants to clinch. Mustaine fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Katsu. Mustaine thuds his right hand into Katsu's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Mustaine lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mustaine looks to score with a jab to the body but Katsu is just out of range. Mustaine gets caught flat footed, as Katsu shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Katsu is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mustaine is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mustaine has escaped and now he's on top! Katsu throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mustaine accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mustaine controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Mustaine scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Katsu is looking for a triangle here but Mustaine uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Mustaine controls the position from side control. Mustaine avoids the strikes from the bottom by Katsu. Mustaine staying calm. Let's hope that Mustaine has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dave Mustaine wasn't active enough on the ground. Mustaine attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Katsu gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Mustaine throws a sloppy head kick and Katsu moves out of range easily. A combination from Mustaine does no damage. Katsu fails with the takedown and Mustaine counters with a lovely straight right hand! Dave Mustaine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mustaine tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mustaine throws a head kick that Katsu semi-blocks.
Katsu has his takedown stuffed and Mustaine counters with a nice low kick that buckles Katsu's knee momentarily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hideaki Katsu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Katsu tries for a takedown but Mustaine circles away easily and Mustaine counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Mustaine lands a nice leg kick that just misses Katsu's sensitive parts. Katsu is breathing heavily. Katsu takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mustaine throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Katsu stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mustaine is looking to slow Katsu down with leg kicks. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mustaine darts in and clinches Katsu up against the cage. Mustaine is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Mustaine unloads a knee to the mid-section. Katsu tries to pull guard but Mustaine won't allow it.

Mustaine lands a good knee to the midsection. Katsu won't want to take too many of those. Mustaine throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Katsu takes a knee to the side of the body. Mustaine lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. A bit of stalling here from Mustaine.

That had to hurt Katsu. Mustaine stuns Katsu with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Mustaine getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Mustaine with a body punch. A glancing blow. Mustaine throws a combination. Katsu tries to block but a couple of punches get through. A punch lands to the side of Katsu 's head but he takes it in his stride. Mustaine gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. A quick uppercut on the inside from Mustaine. Nice elbow from Mustaine.

Mustaine connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Katsu takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Katsu takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Some wild striking there from Mustaine.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Katsu misses with a takedown and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Mustaine throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Katsu takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Mustaine gets a clinch. Mustaine scores a nice knee to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mustaine lands a leg kick that knocks Katsu off balance momentarily. Mustaine closes the distance and pushes Katsu back into the cage. Mustaine lands an elbow inside that Katsu shrugs off. Katsu tries to pull guard but Mustaine holds him up against the cage and eventually Katsu drops back down to his feet.
Mustaine breaks the clinch.
Mustaine connects with a good right hand that stumbles Katsu. Katsu circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Katsu takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Nice shot by Mustaine. Mustaine feints and then cracks Katsu's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Katsu down. Katsu takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Good leg kick by Mustaine there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Katsu takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Katsu chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mustaine can pounce on him.
Mustaine rushes Katsu and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Katsu takes an elbow to the forehead. Dave Mustaine is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Mustaine leaning against his opponent.

And that's the end of the fight! Dave Mustaine comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Mustaine has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
