Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, konrad marcinkiewicz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Neville Champman! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! marcinkiewicz misses with a left hand and Champman decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in marcinkiewicz's guard. Champman stays in close to marcinkiewicz's body and controls the position. Champman won't allow marcinkiewicz to sweep him here. marcinkiewicz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Champman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Champman throwing strikes from guard but marcinkiewicz blocks nicely. Champman controls from within his opponent's guard. marcinkiewicz wants to sweep but no luck. marcinkiewicz trying to keep a closed guard but Champman is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Champman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. marcinkiewicz is keeping the position for now. Champman wants to control from the top but marcinkiewicz keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Champman tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. marcinkiewicz misses with a lunging right hand
and Champman counters with a body kick. Champman moves forwards but marcinkiewicz connects with a nice, crisp jab. Champman feints and as marcinkiewicz raises his hands in defense, Champman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Champman looking to control the position here, rather than advance. marcinkiewicz is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Champman controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. marcinkiewicz blocks a head kick by Champman.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Champman feints and then cracks marcinkiewicz's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow marcinkiewicz down. Neville Champman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. marcinkiewicz lunges at Champman with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Champman's hand. marcinkiewicz avoids the head kick by Champman.

Champman throws a front kick aimed at marcinkiewicz's knee but marcinkiewicz avoids it well. marcinkiewicz slaps away a takedown attempt from Champman, before circling back to the center of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Champman throws a leg kick but marcinkiewicz sees it coming and checks it nicely. marcinkiewicz lands with an uppercut that bounces Champman off the cage and back into rage. marcinkiewicz blocks a head kick by Champman.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Champman looks for a takedown but marcinkiewicz sprawls well. Champman throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Champman throws a quick inside leg kick. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. marcinkiewicz swings widly with a right hand

Champman throws a sloppy head kick and marcinkiewicz moves out of range easily. marcinkiewicz tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Champman dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on marcinkiewicz. That did some damage! Champman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Good work by marcinkiewicz as he checks the leg kick. marcinkiewicz looks to throw the jab but Champman is out of range. Champman is looking to score with low kicks. marcinkiewicz takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
That's four minutes gone in the round. A big head kick from Champman and marcinkiewicz is sent sprawling to the canvas!
It looks like konrad marcinkiewicz has been cut. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Champman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. marcinkiewicz can't keep his opponent in guard - Champman advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Champman with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Champman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Champman landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Champman perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Champman passes the guard and advances to mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Neville Champman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on konrad marcinkiewicz's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Champman lands with a nice body kick. Champman does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Champman uses good head movement to avoid the hook from marcinkiewicz. Champman fails to land the takedown. Champman tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Champman fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and marcinkiewicz has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. marcinkiewicz throws a shot from downtown. Champman moves away and avoids it. Champman fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt marcinkiewicz. Champman misses with a low kick.
Champman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says marcinkiewicz as he avoids it easily. konrad marcinkiewicz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. marcinkiewicz lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Neville Champman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Champman fails with the takedown. konrad marcinkiewicz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Neville Champman. Champman tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. marcinkiewicz has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Champman. marcinkiewicz misses with a straight left. marcinkiewicz misses with a hook
and Champman counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Champman has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can marcinkiewicz defend it? Champman steps over the head and cranks it - marcinkiewicz is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Champman!
