The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fahnskhap misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Opasen.
Opasen shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Fahnskhap counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Opasen drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fahnskhap manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Opasen has Fahnskhap in his guard.

Opasen had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fahnskhap defends it easily.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Fahnskhap wants to control from the top but Opasen keeps moving.

Opasen has his foot on Fahnskhap's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fahnskhap works his way back into a safe position though.

Opasen throws his legs up looking for a submission but Fahnskhap uses it to pass to side control.
Opasen looks to move to half guard but instead Fahnskhap has passed into mount! Damn!

Opasen is in a horrible position here. Fahnskhap smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Opasen is trying desperately to improve position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
BOOM! Fahnskhap connects with a massive shot to the dome!

It looks like Osobo Opasen has been cut.
Opasen is looking to improve his position but Fahnskhap isn't that keen on the idea.
Fahnskhap lands a big shot there that rocks Opasen but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Opasen wants to control but Fahnskhap is having none of it.
Opasen keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Fahnskhap winds up and cracks Opasen with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Fahnskhap tries to pass the half guard into mount. Opasen knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Opasen is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Fahnskhap scores with a couple of nice shots.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Fahnskhap looks to land a strike but Opasen avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Opasen looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Fahnskhap has picked Opasen up and slammed him! Opasen can't keep hold of the triangle and Fahnskhap manages to pass to side control!

Opasen is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Fahnskhap's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Opasen tries to roll over but Fahnskhap keeps him under control.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fahnskhap shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Opasen eats them both and turns towards Fahnskhap to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

That has opened up Osobo Opasen's cut even more.
Fahnskhap scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Opasen is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Fahnskhap can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
