PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Super Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane MacLain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Super Boy comes into the arena with Bate Pesadão blaring out of the sound system. MacLain has chosen Drowning Pool - Bodies (Let The Bodies Hit The Floor as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Antonio Super Boy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane MacLain!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Super Boy moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Super Boy. MacLain does a little dance to reset his feet.

MacLain moves into the clinch.

MacLain breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Super Boy misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Super Boy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Super Boy lands with a nice combination. MacLain backs away looking to recover.
MacLain scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
MacLain tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

MacLain shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Super Boy napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Super Boy avoids any damage from the ground and pound of MacLain.
MacLain sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Super Boy is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
MacLain misses with the ground and pound.

MacLain decides to stand up, so the ref orders Super Boy to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

so MacLain counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Super Boy avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Super Boy wants to stand up but MacLain is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Super Boy pushes MacLain off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

MacLain is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

MacLain is looking to take a break and control but Super Boy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

MacLain seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Super Boy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
MacLain thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
MacLain wants to take a breather but Super Boy is having none of it.

Super Boy kicks off MacLain and gets to his feet.
Super Boy swings for the body but MacLain moves out of range.

MacLain keeps control of Super Boy as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

MacLain is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Super Boy is defending well for now.

Super Boy is trying to push MacLain away but MacLain has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

MacLain pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

MacLain decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Super Boy is trying to stand.
MacLain wants to stand but Super Boy has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Super Boy avoiding damage under a succession of punches from MacLain.
MacLain is looking to advance position but Super Boy won't allow it.
MacLain prevents Super Boy from standing back up.

Super Boy manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Super Boy tries to bum rush MacLain with a series of wild strikes but MacLain uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
MacLain misses with a head kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Super Boy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
MacLain blocks a jab.

MacLain closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Super Boy tries to break free but MacLain pushes him back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shane MacLain dominated that round.

MacLain shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
MacLain is keen to just control but Super Boy is a slippery customer.
Super Boy wants to get back to his feet.

MacLain decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Super Boy misses the shot to the body.
Super Boy is looking to wear down MacLain with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

MacLain shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
BOOM! MacLain connects with a massive shot to the dome!
MacLain lands a nice shot to the head.
Super Boy really wants to buck MacLain off and get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Super Boy takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

MacLain is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Super Boy to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Super Boy shrugs it off.

MacLain lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

MacLain with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Super Boy's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
MacLain wants to stand but Super Boy has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Shane MacLain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

MacLain drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Super Boy manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now MacLain has Super Boy in his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Super Boy trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
