Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thai Shu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shu comes to the cage accompanied by We International. Wanderlei Silva will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Thai Shu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Wanderlei Silva! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva wants to clinch but Shu slips to the side and Shu counters with a lovely straight right hand! Silva tries to clinch but Shu is having none of it. Silva tries to clinch up and Silva takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Shu swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shu moves into the clinch. Silva drops Shu with a big knee straight up the middle! Shu is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

It looks like Thai Shu has been cut. Shu shoots in but no luck this time. Oh Shu is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Shu throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Shu seems to have got his legs back now. Silva moves to clinch but Shu breaks away and Shu counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Shu is looking to work some ground and pound but Silva has wrist control. Silva working a defensive guard here.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Shu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Silva looks like he's trying to stand up.

We're going to have a standup here because Thai Shu wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Silva wants to clinch but Shu slips to the side and Shu holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Silva tries a knee to the head but Shu blocks it.

He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Wanderlei Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! And that's the end of the fight! Thai Shu showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Shu, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
