Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Royce Gracie II (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ultimate Warrior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Royce Gracie II! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ultimate Warrior! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Warrior fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Warrior looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Gracie II misses with a takedown attempt and Warrior counters with a nice double leg into guard. Gracie II managing to control the position. Gracie II is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Warrior is controlling him. Gracie II seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Warrior with a flurry of punches that miss. Gracie II trying to keep a closed guard but Warrior is proving a slippery customer.
Gracie II throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Warrior postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Gracie II shoots in and bounces Warrior off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Gracie II trying to control but Warrior is working from the bottom. Gracie II passes Warrior's left leg - he's now in half guard. Gracie II thows a huge punch but Warrior dodges it nicely.
Gracie II slows the pace down in half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Warrior can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie II has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Gracie II is tying to control. Warrior wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Warrior keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Gracie II works his way into side control. Gracie II has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Gracie II shoots for a takedown but Warrior saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Gracie II pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Warrior drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gracie II tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie II is working hard here to advance position. Gracie II can't do much from the bottom here. Warrior trying to control the action but Gracie II is working from the bottom. Gracie II tries to escape but Warrior is in control. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Warrior tries to advance to mount but Gracie II denies him. Warrior decides to stand back up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Gracie II fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Warrior sprawls well initially but Gracie II persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Warrior trying to control but Gracie II postures up.
Gracie II trying to control the action but Warrior is working from the bottom. Gracie II not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Gracie II trying to control from half guard but Warrior is working away. Gracie II seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Warrior is not content to let Gracie II control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Royce Gracie II will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Gracie II tries to clinch but Warrior moves away and Warrior counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Warrior. Gracie II looking for a sweep. Not yet Gracie II, not yet. Gracie II controlling the position. Gracie II working a defensive guard here.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Royce Gracie II just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Gracie II is looking to clinch but Warrior is avoiding it.
Warrior gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Gracie II counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gracie II. Gracie II pulls guard successfully.
Warrior is breathing heavily. Gracie II tries to land a sweep but no joy. Gracie II wants to stand up but Warrior is controlling him. Warrior avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie II not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gracie II is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Warrior is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Gracie II tries to land a sweep but no joy. Gracie II working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Warrior doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Warrior manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Ultimate Warrior has got the better of the ground game so far. Warrior wants to get up but he can't break Gracie II's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Warrior trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Warrior stays in close to Gracie II's body and controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Warrior wants to control from the top but Gracie II keeps moving. Gracie II looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Warrior trying to control but Gracie II is working from the bottom. Gracie II wants to stand but Warrior is controlling the position. Warrior controls from within his opponent's guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Gracie II is looking to clinch. Gracie II shoots in for a takedown but Warrior shows good takedown defense. Gracie II shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Warrior takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

It looks like Ultimate Warrior has been cut. Gracie II drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Gracie II trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Gracie II passes Warrior's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Gracie II is looking to take a break and control but Warrior is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gracie II throwing shots but Warrior is blocking nicely. Gracie II is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie II is looking to take a break and control but Warrior is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Gracie II prevents Warrior from improving his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie II wants to free his trapped foot but Warrior is holding on for dear life with his legs. Warrior tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Gracie II has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Gracie II tries to control but Warrior wriggling away. Gracie II unloads with some shots from mount but Warrior bucks and avoids them well.
Gracie II takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Warrior is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gracie II scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Gracie II misses with a takedown and Warrior decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gracie II's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gracie II is controlling Warrior's posture. Warrior must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Gracie II keeping moving, preventing Warrior from controlling successfully. Gracie II is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Gracie II trying to keep a closed guard but Warrior is proving a slippery customer.

If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gracie II tries to land a sweep but no joy. Warrior postures up.

Gracie II with a poor takedown and Warrior decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gracie II's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Warrior trying to control but Gracie II is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie II is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Warrior has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gracie II is working away from the top position though. Warrior controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Gracie II is looking to take a break and control but Warrior is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Warrior tries to get to full guard but Gracie II has control of the leg. Gracie II thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Warrior's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gracie II seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Warrior does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Warrior is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Gracie II tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gracie II lands a with a good body shot. Gracie II bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Gracie II working the ground and pound but Warrior is defending the strikes. Gracie II tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Gracie II fails to land a wild elbow strike.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie II in side control, just content to control the action for now.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Royce Gracie II. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gracie II, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
