Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vitaly Kanashkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Sikorsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vitaly Kanashkin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Sikorsky! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sikorsky dives in and grabs Kanashkin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kanashkin pushes down on Sikorsky's head and hops out. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kanashkin. Kanashkin misses the shot to the body. Sikorsky lands a big head kick that sends Kanashkin tumbling to the mat! Sikorsky takes a step backwards and waves Kanashkin back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Vitaly Kanashkin has been cut. Kanashkin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sikorsky's half guard. Kanashkin not landing any meaningful shots this time. Sikorsky slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Sikorsky trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Sikorsky has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kanashkin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Kanashkin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sikorsky preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kanashkin throwing strikes but missing. Kanashkin connects with a couple of short punches. Sikorsky seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Kanashkin tries to stand but Sikorsky is controlling from the bottom. Sikorsky looking to control.
Sikorsky is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kanashkin is aware though and is defending well. Kanashkin stands and steps away. Sikorsky gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Kanashkin is breathing heavily. Nice takedown defense from Kanashkin. No joy for Sikorsky on that attempt. Sikorsky darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Sikorsky wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kanashkin keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sikorsky tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kanashkin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Kanashkin wants to get back to his feet.
Sikorsky is trying to control the action in half guard but Kanashkin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Sikorsky wants to stand up but Kanashkin has a hold of him and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sikorsky is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Kanashkin has managed to free his arm - good work. Kanashkin is trying to stand back up but Sikorsky is controlling him
Sikorsky frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Sikorsky trying to control but Kanashkin is having none of it. You get the feeling that Kanashkin really doesn't like being in this position too much.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Sikorsky looking to control but Kanashkin is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Sikorsky jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kanashkin manages to avoid the submission attempt. The ground and pound from Sikorsky seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Kanashkin is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Sikorsky trying to control the position but Kanashkin is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Igor Sikorsky dominated that round. The cut man is working on Vitaly Kanashkin's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Sikorsky wants to clinch. Sikorsky will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A slow jab from Sikorsky misses its intended target. Sikorsky darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Kanashkin is trying to stand back up but Sikorsky is controlling him
Sikorsky is looking to take a break and control but Kanashkin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sikorsky is taking a breather. Kanashkin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sikorsky is looking to advance position but Kanashkin won't allow it. Sikorsky moves nicely into side control. Sikorsky thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Kanashkin pushes Sikorsky away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Sikorsky gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sikorsky is trying to get an arm triangle but Kanashkin is defending well. Sikorsky is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Kanashkin is trying to escape and Sikorsky transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Kanashkin is forced to tap! Nice work there by Sikorsky! Very nice indeed!
