The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spiegel shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Maia eats them both and turns towards Spiegel to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Spiegel closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Spiegel throws a left and a right that both miss
and Maia counters with a stiff right hand.
Spiegel cracks Maia with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Spiegel fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Maia counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Maia shoots in and gets a takedown into Spiegel's guard.
Maia might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Spiegel looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out!
