Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Max Detroit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Latka Gravas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Max Detroit! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Latka Gravas! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice shot by Gravas. Detroit throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Detroit rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Gravas counters with a single leg into guard. Detroit didn't expect that. Gravas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Detroit is keeping the position for now. Detroit looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gravas is one step ahead there. Detroit is looking to stand up but Gravas isn't so interested in that idea. Detroit tries to land a sweep but no joy. Detroit has his feet on Gravas's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Nice defenses there by Gravas. Detroit misses with a body shot.
Gravas shoots in but Detroit avoids the takedown attempt easily. Some wild striking there from Detroit.
Detroit fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gravas manages to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Detroit gets the takedown into side control. Detroit tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Detroit has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Detroit throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Gravas manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Gravas stops Detroit from getting back to his feet.
Gravas is working for a submission of some sort.
Detroit is looking to control Gravas's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Detroit avoid being mounted? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gravas wants to take a breather but Detroit is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Detroit regains full guard. Nicely done. Gravas working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Detroit's head. Gravas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Detroit is keeping the position for now. Gravas drops back looking for a leg! Detroit is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Detroit manages to kick Gravas off! Gravas jumps back into Detroit's guard. Detroit pulls Gravas in to control the position. Gravas works a leg free and moves into half guard. Gravas decides to stand up. Detroit misses with a hook
letting Gravas counter with a right hand. Gravas tries to move into range but Detroit moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Detroit falls off balance throwing a combination
and Gravas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Detroit misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Detroit throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Detroit lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gravas circles away quickly and effectively. Detroit rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Gravas cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Detroit misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Detroit just misses with a punch to the body.
Detroit fails to land with a series of punches.
Detroit misses with a double jab
enabling Gravas to counter with a crisp jab. Detroit throws a lazy uppercut
and Gravas counters with a nice body shot. Detroit fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gravas manages to avoid it. Detroit jabs Gravas to the body, keeping him at a distance. A big left from Detroit misses. Gravas jabbing away but nothing is landing. Detroit misses with an uppercut
and Gravas counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gravas. Detroit is trying to keep Gravas in close.
Detroit tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gravas is pushing down on Detroit's leg trying to pass to half guard. Detroit is fighting to maintain full guard but Gravas has managed to sneak the leg through. Gravas seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Detroit manages to get to full guard.

Gravas controls from within his opponent's guard. Detroit keeping moving, preventing Gravas from controlling successfully. Detroit bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gravas's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Detroit missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Detroit throws a strike but Gravas rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Detroit controls Gravas momentarily but Gravas frees himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Latka Gravas dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Detroit swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Gravas counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Detroit throws a hook but Gravas blocks it. Gravas ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A punch combination from Detroit misses. Gravas takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Gravas walks into a stiff left hand from Detroit. Gravas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Detroit sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gravas somewhat. Detroit throws out a token jab with nothing on it. A low kick from Detroit misses and Gravas counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Detroit! Detroit tries to get back to half guard but can't. Detroit tries to hold on but Gravas pushes him away. Gravas landing strikes, looking to finish! Detroit is trying to escape the mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gravas looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
It looks like Max Detroit has been cut. Detroit working to try and regain half guard.
Gravas landing shots from mount. Gravas working for a guillotine from mount but Detroit is in no mood to give up. Gravas working Detroit over with strikes here.
Max Detroit's cut is getting worse. Gravas raining down shots from the mount! Detroit wants to hold on but Gravas pushes him away. Detroit tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gravas with shots to the head and body - Detroit looks very uncomfortable down there.
Max Detroit's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Gravas working away from the top, dropping strikes. Detroit is in a horrible position here. Gravas smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Jeez, Max Detroit's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Max Detroit's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Latka Gravas! Latka Gravas is the new middleweight champion!
