Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Caldwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Deiter Myers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Shane Caldwin has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

7 - 15 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Deiter Myers! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Myers darts in and clinches Caldwin up against the cage. Myers tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Caldwin just stands there and leans against the cage. Caldwin wants to break the clinch but can't.
Caldwin is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Myers is keeping busy. Myers misses with a knee to the head. Myers tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Myers looks gassed! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Caldwin looks to clinch and Myers counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Myers. Myers takes a knee right on the jaw!
That has opened up Deiter Myers's cut even more. Caldwin is trying to force a seperation but Myers has the dominant position. Myers using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Caldwin has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Caldwin wants to clinch but Myers slips to the side so Myers counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Myers connects with a couple of short punches. Myers has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Caldwin has his feet on Myers's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Caldwin tries to bum rush Myers with a series of wild strikes but Myers uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Caldwin lands a head kick. Myers smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Caldwin clinches with his opponent.

Myers is trying to maintain a safe position but Caldwin gets an underhook and turns Myers into the cage. Myers has Caldwin pressed against the cage, preventing Caldwin from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Myers jumps guard.

Myers looking to hit a scissor sweep but Caldwin is one step ahead there. Myers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Caldwin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Myers is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Caldwin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Myers bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Caldwin's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Caldwin shoots in looking for a takedown but Myers manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Caldwin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Shane Caldwin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Caldwin bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Myers's head. Caldwin misses with the combination.

Myers is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Myers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Caldwin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Caldwin stops Myers from standing up. That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Myers throwing strikes but missing. Myers scoring with punches to the head and body. Myers trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Myers trying to control but Caldwin is working from the bottom. Myers working some strikes from top position. Deiter Myers has got the better of the ground game so far. Myers is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Myers chips away with some ground and pound. Myers missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

The ground and pound from Myers seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Myers lands an elbow. Myers grinds an elbow into Caldwin's temple. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Myers throws a strike aimed at the side of Caldwin's head but Caldwin avoids it well. Nice takedown defense from Caldwin. No joy for Myers on that attempt. Myers circles away from the clinch attempt and Myers counters with a nice double leg into guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Myers is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Caldwin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Caldwin has escaped and now he's on top!

Myers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Caldwin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Caldwin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Myers scores with a short punch from the bottom. Caldwin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Caldwin wanted to stand there but Myers had control of the position. Myers has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Caldwin should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Myers has tightened it up now! Caldwin should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
