Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergei Haritonov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nikolai Kovalenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Valeri Chadov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovalenko lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kovalenko.
Haritonov throws a right hand that misses
and Kovalenko counters with a nice body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kovalenko lands a glancing blow to the side of Haritonov's head.
Haritonov avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kovalenko throws a series of punches but Haritonov avoids them all with ease.
Kovalenko fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A combination from Kovalenko does no damage.
The crowd cheers as Kovalenko lands an impressive looking overhand right. Haritonov doesn't seem phased though.
Haritonov misses with a lunging right hand
and Kovalenko counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kovalenko lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kovalenko digs a good body shot into Haritonov's ribs.
Haritonov is breathing heavily.
Haritonov throws a poor cross that misses
and Kovalenko counters with a three punch combo that has Haritonov backing up. Haritonov nods at Kovalenko to acknowledge the strikes.
Oooooh!!! Kovalenko has knocked Haritonov down with a huge combo! Kovalenko steps away and waves a wobbly Haritonov back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Haritonov is rocked!
It looks like Sergei Haritonov has been cut.
Kovalenko is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Haritonov hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Nikolai Kovalenko!
