The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDaniel moves in looking to clinch but Roc pushes him off.
Roc closes the distance looking to clinch
and McDaniel counters with a stiff right hand.
McDaniel scores with a nice right hand.
McDaniel lands a big uppercut and Roc crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Roc looks OK.

Roc is rocked!
Roc on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Oh Roc is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Roc knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McDaniel on the ground.
McDaniel works his way into side control.
Roc is breathing heavily.
McDaniel wants to lay and pray for a moment but Roc keeps working.

McDaniel thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Roc seems to have got his legs back now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McDaniel tries for a kimura but Roc is defending well.

McDaniel tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McDaniel has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
McDaniel creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Roc sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Roc might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

McDaniel goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Roc has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for McDaniel but great work by Roc.

McDaniel swings around for an armbar but Roc sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into McDaniel's guard.
