Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tyson Tanner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, HB Pencil! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tanner misses with a double jab.
A swing and a miss from Tanner. Tanner shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pencil but Pencil pushes him off and we're back to square one. Tanner avoids the head kick by Pencil.
Tanner avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Tanner missing with a left hand there. Pencil was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Pencil throws a low kick but Tanner moves out of range easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pencil throws a low kick but Tanner avoids it. Tanner on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Tanner throws a lazy right hand but Pencil sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Donk. Tanner catches Pencil right on the button with a cross.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pencil tries to clinch and Pencil takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Pencil tries to clinch but Tanner is having none of it. Tanner on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Tanner misses with a takedown attempt - Pencil sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Pencil misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pencil tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Tanner manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Pencil throws a head kick that misses. Pencil pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pencil throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head kick from Pencil lands but Tanner takes it in his stride. Pencil tries a head kick but it misses.
Tanner shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Pencil moves into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Tanner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tanner has Pencil pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pencil manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Pencil unloads a knee to the mid-section. Pencil leaning against his opponent.

Pencil creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Tanner's defenses.
It looks like Tyson Tanner has been cut. Pencil tries a knee to the head but Tanner blocks it.
Pencil will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Tanner up against the cage. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by HB Pencil. Tanner gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Pencil counters with an inside leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A leg kick checked by Tanner. Pencil tries to clinch but Tanner moves away and Tanner counters with a stiff right hand. Pencil fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tanner, pushing him back against the cage. Pencil throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Tanner blocks it with crossed arms. Pencil tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

HB Pencil dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tyson Tanner's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Pencil walks into a straight right hand from Tanner. Pencil throws a head kick but Tanner moves out of range.
HB Pencil seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pencil wants to slow Tanner down by chopping away at his legs. Pencil avoids a lazy jab quite easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pencil tries to clinch up. Pencil wants to land a leg kick but Tanner is out of range. Pencil looks to clinch enabling Tanner to counter with a crisp jab.

Tanner drives through with a takedown into guard. Tanner sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pencil's guard. Pencil is trying to get back to full guard. Tanner wants to control but Pencil is keeping him busy. Tanner is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pencil has managed to free his arm - good work. Tanner trying to control the action but Pencil is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tanner trying to control the pace. Tanner is pressing down on Pencil's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pencil is holding on for now. Tanner moves nicely into side control. Tanner goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Pencil rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Tanner's guard! Nice work there by Pencil! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pencil trying to stand up but can't free himself from Tanner's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tanner is looking for a triangle but Pencil pushes his legs off easily.
Tanner bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pencil's guard. Tanner is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pencil is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pencil has escaped and now he's on top! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tanner looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Pencil engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Pencil stands and steps away. Tanner gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Pencil tries to clinch but Tanner moves away and Tanner counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pencil pulls Tanner in close to prevent any damage. Pencil wants to stand but Tanner is controlling the position. Pencil wants to sweep here but Tanner controlling him for the moment. Tanner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pencil swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pencil keeping moving, preventing Tanner from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tyson Tanner dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Tyson Tanner's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Tanner has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Pencil avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson Tanner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tanner blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Pencil pressing his opponent against the cage. Pencil tries to land a knee to the head but Tanner blocks with his arms.
Tanner is trying to drag Pencil to the mat but Pencil just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Pencil is pushing Tanner up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Tanner is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Pencil has Tanner pushed against the cage. The crowd are getting on Pencil's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by HB Pencil. Pencil doesn't manage to clinch there - Tanner circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Pencil looks to clinch and Tanner counters with a nice double leg into guard. Tanner tries to free his leg and advance position but Pencil is retaining full guard. Tanner drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pencil looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pencil looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pencil! Pencil lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Pencil has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Tanner keeps the fight on the outside. Tanner keeps the fight on the outside. Pencil throws the kick towards the body but Tanner avoids it.
And that's the end of the fight! HB Pencil comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Pencil has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
