The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Desalvo misses with a jab, cross combination.
Desalvo avoids a kick to the body.
Masters is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Desalvo.
Masters misses with a wild combination.
Chris Masters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Masters tries to land a front kick but Desalvo steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Masters misses with an uppercut. Desalvo saw that one coming.
That kick from Masters tenderised Desalvo's leg. Desalvo is trying to keep his angry face on.
Masters throws a sloppy head kick and Desalvo moves out of range easily.

so Desalvo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Desalvo won't allow Masters to get back to his feet.
Desalvo won't allow Masters to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Desalvo works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Desalvo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Desalvo working over Masters with some ground and pound. Masters looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Masters wants to get back to his feet.
Desalvo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Masters's head.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Desalvo in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Desalvo thows a huge punch but Masters dodges it nicely.
Desalvo uses his free foot to push down on Masters's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Masters.
Masters knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Desalvo on the ground.
