Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Benton Styles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leroy Goins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Styles comes into the arena with Rocky Remix blaring out of the sound system. Goins has chosen Ha as his entrance music. Leroy Goins has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goins throws a sloppy body shot
and Styles cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Goins throws out a loose jab but Styles uses good head movement to avoid it.
Styles tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Goins was well out of range. Poor timing from Styles.
Goins loads up on a big right hand but Styles slips the punch.
Goins checks a leg kick.
Goins cracks the inside of Styles's front leg.
Goins smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Goins shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Styles as he avoids it easily.
Goins throws a combination that misses
and Styles makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Styles. Goins does a little dance to reset his feet.
Goins misses with an uppercut
and Styles connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Styles takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Goins looks for a takedown but Styles sprawls well.

Goins shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Goins showed some decent athleticism there.
Goins is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Styles is not content to let Goins control the position.
Styles wants to improve his position but Goins is controlling well.
Styles knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Goins on the ground.

and Styles counters with a nice low kick that buckles Goins's knee momentarily.
Goins fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Styles manages to avoid it.

Leroy Goins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Goins takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Goins rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Styles counters with a left and a right that stings Goins.

Styles looks to land a left hand but Goins moved out of range nicely.

Styles looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Goins moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Styles chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Goins rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Styles counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Styles counters with a good low kick that Goins was not able to check.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Goins checks a leg kick.
Styles goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Styles, right into the meat.

Goins tries to score a power double leg takedown but Styles sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Goins somewhat.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Benton Styles.
