PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Colin McLeod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and chris Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLeod comes into the arena with Scotland the Brave blaring out of the sound system. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Colin McLeod!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, chris Harris!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Harris scores with a kick to the body.
Harris fails with the takedown
and McLeod counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like chris Harris has been cut.
McLeod throws a sloppy head kick and Harris moves out of range easily.
Harris displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as McLeod throws out the jab.
McLeod tries for a takedown but Harris circles away easily

and Harris decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McLeod's guard.
Harris trying to control the position from guard on top but McLeod is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

McLeod is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by chris Harris.

and McLeod counters with a nice double leg into side control. Harris won't be happy with that.
McLeod throwing strikes but Harris manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
McLeod throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
McLeod wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
McLeod is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Harris asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Harris stands up and beckons McLeod to his feet.

and Harris counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Harris has had enough of the clinch but McLeod keeps him there for the moment.
Harris wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but McLeod has him pressed against the cage.

McLeod tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Harris works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

McLeod wants to get back to his feet but Harris is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

McLeod has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Harris is proving hard to escape from.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McLeod lands a couple of elbows.

and Harris counters with a slapping leg kick.
McLeod pulls out of a head kick attempt.

McLeod closes the distance and pushes Harris back into the cage.

Harris lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
McLeod is refusing to be controlled, as Harris sits in half guard.
McLeod wants to improve his position but Harris is controlling well.

Harris postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for McLeod to stand up.
Harris is breathing heavily.

McLeod drives through with a takedown into guard.
McLeod wants to stand but Harris has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Harris wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and McLeod is now in half guard.

McLeod is working for a submission of some sort.
McLeod is looking to advance position but Harris won't allow it.
McLeod wants to lay and pray for a moment but Harris keeps working.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

McLeod closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

McLeod feints and as Harris raises his hands in defense, McLeod changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Harris tries to land a sweep but no joy.
McLeod keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Harris's head.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for McLeod, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
