Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liddell has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. This should be a great matchup!

1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ivan Rodriguez! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rodriguez looking to land some kicks to the body here.

and Liddell cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Rodriguez misses with a takedown enabling Liddell to counter with a crisp jab. Rodriguez throws a head kick that half lands.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rodriguez misses with a left hand and Liddell counters with a straight right hand. Liddell dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Liddell throws a wild body kick that Rodriguez sees coming a mile off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rodriguez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A punch lands to the side of Rodriguez 's head but he takes it in his stride. Liddell throws a head kick but Rodriguez moves out of range.
Liddell lands with a shot to the body. Liddell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rodriguez, pushing him back against the ropes. Liddell manages to break the clinch.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Liddell, as that shot connected.

Liddell catches Rodriguez with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddell throws a leg kick but Rodriguez checks it. Rodriguez on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Liddell wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Liddell is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Liddell connects with a high kick. Liddell lands with a straight right. Rodriguez didn't see that one coming. Liddell stuns Rodriguez with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Liddell moves into the clinch successfully.
A frustrated look appears on Rodriguez's face as he tries to break the clinch. Rodriguez is trying to break the clinch but Liddell has him pressed against the ropes. Liddell breaks from the clinch.

Liddell cracks a nice hook into Rodriguez's ribs. Ivan Rodriguez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Liddell looks to land a combination. Rodriguez sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Rodriguez is trying desperately to land a takedown but Liddell is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Rodriguez. Liddell moves into range and clinches up with Rodriguez. Liddell keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rodriguez's efforts to push away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. A body shot lands from Liddell.

Rodriguez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Liddell's guard. Rodriguez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Liddell wants to improve his position but instead Rodriguez has moved into half guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
