Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Herman Gutierrez has been cut.
Gutierrez darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Gutierrez is looking for a kimura but Knight is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gutierrez to get the leverage.
Gutierrez is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Gutierrez wants to pass to mount but Knight is defending the position.
Knight tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Knight throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Knight gets back to full guard.
Knight manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Knight is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Gutierrez is surviving well by controlling Knight's body position as best he can.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Knight has hold of Gutierrez's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Gutierrez manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Knight is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gutierrez has escaped the position, nice work there.
Gutierrez is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Knight off and has taken his back!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gutierrez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Knight's waist but Knight gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gutierrez off to one side.

Knight throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Gutierrez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Knight but Knight pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Herman Gutierrez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
