Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jon Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terri Pauly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terri Pauly is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Harris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Terri Pauly!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pauly slips under a jab from Harris.
Harris walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Harris missing with a left hand there. Pauly was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Harris dodges the punch combination from Pauly.
Pauly tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Harris was well out of range. Poor timing from Pauly.
Harris throws a sloppy body shot
enabling Pauly to counter with a crisp jab.
Harris moves into range and connects with a jab.
Nice defenses there by Pauly.
Pauly throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Harris.
A swing and a miss from Harris.
Pauly throws a jab but it's blocked by Harris.
A big right from Pauly misses.
Pauly closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Harris slips a jab and a cross from Pauly.
Pauly rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Harris moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Harris throws a lazy right hand but Pauly sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Pauly misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Harris.
Pauly lunges at Harris with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Harris's hand.

Harris closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Harris lands in his opponent's guard.

Pauly has his foot on Harris's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Harris works his way back into a safe position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Harris is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Harris's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Harris stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Pauly displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Harris throws out the jab.

Pauly takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Harris throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Pauly lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Pauly.

Pauly swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Harris misses with a body shot.
Pauly rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Harris moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Pauly scores with a one two! Harris had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Pauly looks gassed!
Pauly throws the left hand but Harris avoids the punch easily.
Pauly throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Harris sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A shot to the body from Harris misses
and Pauly counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Harris looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Pauly trying to control from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Terri Pauly dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Pauly throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Harris jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Pauly scores with a hook.
Pauly lands a lovely overhand right.
Pauly swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Pauly takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Pauly misses with the combination.
Pauly ducks under a wild hook from Harris.
Terri Pauly is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pauly throws a right and a left that both miss.
Harris showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pauly.
Harris cracks Pauly with a right hand to the side of the head.
Harris swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Harris takes a swing at Pauly's ribcage but misses.
Pauly might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Harris drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Pauly is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Harris decides to stand back up. Harris steps back and let's Pauly get back to his feet.

Pauly tries to bum rush Harris with a series of wild strikes but Harris uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pauly misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pauly throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Harris.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pauly throws a right and a left that both miss.
Harris avoids a punch combination nicely.
Pauly throws a right hand that Harris ducks under and follows up with a left that Harris also avoids with ease.
Pauly throws out a loose jab but Harris uses good head movement to avoid it.
Harris throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pauly sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Pauly swings for the body but Harris moves out of range.
Pauly looks to land a combination. Harris sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Pauly is breathing heavily.
Harris slips a jab and a cross from Pauly.
Pauly scores with a crisp jab that stopped Harris in his tracks.

Harris waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Pauly.
Harris looks to score with a jab to the body but Pauly is just out of range.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pauly throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Pauly tries to bum rush Harris with a series of wild strikes but Harris uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Harris scores with a sloppy right hand. Pauly should have avoided that one.
Pauly throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jon Harris will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

No joy there for Pauly, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Harris looks to score with a jab to the body but Pauly is just out of range.
Harris throws a body punch but Pauly moves out of range.

Harris fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pauly sprawls well initially but Harris persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harris has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Harris looking for a guillotine from mount but Pauly is having none of it.
Pauly takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harris sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Harris lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pauly holds of for dear life.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Harris prevents Pauly from getting the reversal.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jon Harris showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Harris has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
