Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kei Young Sung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matias McRokkari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kei Young Sung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matias McRokkari!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McRokkari shoots in for a double leg but Sung sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Sung forces McRokkari back against the cage and clinches.
Sung is trying to break free.
McRokkari has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sung avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Sung misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Sung is stalling here.
Sung is trying to force a seperation but McRokkari has the dominant position.
The referee calls for McRokkari to work.
Sung is trying to drag McRokkari to the mat but McRokkari just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Sung drags the fight down to the ground.
McRokkari in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

McRokkari decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sung, up you get!

Sung lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Sung.

Sung has closed the distance and engaged McRokkari in a clinch.

McRokkari ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. McRokkari no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McRokkari being controlled here, momentarily.
McRokkari wants to stand and escape but Sung is having none of it.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
McRokkari looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sung is one step ahead there.
McRokkari is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sung connects with a single shot there.

McRokkari rushes Sung and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

McRokkari jumps guard.
Sung is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Sung trying to control but McRokkari is working from the bottom.
McRokkari looking for a sweep. Not yet McRokkari, not yet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kei Young Sung wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Sung keeps the fight on the outside.
McRokkari tries to close the distance and clinch but Sung swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sung shoots in but no luck this time.
McRokkari goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Sung thows a body shot but no joy.
Sung throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

McRokkari feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
McRokkari slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Sung is trying to control McRokkari's posture but McRokkari avoids it.
McRokkari wants to control but Sung is keeping him busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

McRokkari tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McRokkari has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McRokkari tries to move into full mount but can't pass Sung's legs.
McRokkari trying to control the action but Sung is working from the bottom.
McRokkari wants to stand but Sung is controlling his arm.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Matias McRokkari will probably get the nod.
That's time! Sung's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


McRokkari steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sung.
No luck for McRokkari with that takedown attempt.
Sung looks to throw a body kick

and McRokkari counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

McRokkari breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and McRokkari counters with a head kick.
McRokkari is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sung fakes high and swings low for a body shot but McRokkari manages to avoid it.

and McRokkari holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
McRokkari wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sung has him pressed against the cage.
Nice body punch from Sung.
Sung taking a breather.

McRokkari manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Sung is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Sung looking to sit in guard and control but McRokkari gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Sung trying to keep a closed guard but McRokkari is proving a slippery customer.
Sung wants to stand but McRokkari is controlling the position.
Sung keeping moving, preventing McRokkari from controlling successfully.
McRokkari wants to get up but he can't break Sung's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
McRokkari must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McRokkari postures up.
McRokkari wanted to stand there but Sung had control of the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kei Young Sung wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Sung throws a lazy head kick

and McRokkari counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by McRokkari.
Sung tries to land a knee to the head but McRokkari blocks with his arms.

McRokkari breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and McRokkari counters with a head kick. That will keep Sung thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Sung darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
McRokkari is breathing heavily.
Sung is trying to control the action in half guard but McRokkari is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Sung tries to pass to full mount but McRokkari defends it.
Sung wants to control but McRokkari is keeping him busy.
Sung missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
McRokkari wants to get back to full guard.
Sung is keen to just control but McRokkari is a slippery customer.

Kei Young Sung has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

McRokkari is looking for a triangle here but Sung uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Sung in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Sung decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Sung closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Sung tries to clinch but McRokkari is having none of it.
Sung thows a leg kick but McRokkari checks it

and McRokkari holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Sung.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Matias McRokkari will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Sung darts in and clinches McRokkari up against the cage.
McRokkari is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Sung trying to land knees to the body.
McRokkari on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

McRokkari jumps guard and drags Sung to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
McRokkari manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sung manages to get himself to full guard.
Sung controls McRokkari momentarily but McRokkari frees himself.
McRokkari wants to control from the top but Sung keeps moving.

Sung pulls McRokkari in close to his closed guard and prevents McRokkari from doing any damage or advancing position.
Sung is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Kei Young Sung wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
McRokkari misses with a head kick.
Sung closes the distance but McRokkari moves to the side

and McRokkari counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by McRokkari.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Sung.
Sung tries to break the clinch but McRokkari is controlling the position.
Sung landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
McRokkari tries for a takedown but Sung manages to get underhooks.

McRokkari gets control of Sung's arms and successfully pulls guard. McRokkari will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McRokkari takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
McRokkari keeping moving, preventing Sung from controlling successfully.
McRokkari manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sung is in all sorts of trouble here.
Sung is working hard here to advance position.

McRokkari wants to control the pace but Sung is squirming around nicely.
McRokkari thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

McRokkari is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sung can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A nice elbow there by McRokkari.
Matias McRokkari is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
McRokkari misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Sung is working to get back to half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
McRokkari looking to control but Sung is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Matias McRokkari comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got McRokkari winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
