Ali Babba has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Thomas Bader has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thomas Bader!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bader shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ali Babba manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Bader stands and throws Ali Babba 's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The referee asks Bader politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bader prefers to stall for the moment though.

Bader decides to stand back up. Bader steps back and let's Ali Babba get back to his feet.

Bader makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Bader has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Bader looks to land a combination but Ali Babba avoids it well.

Bader closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bader lands in his opponent's guard.

Ali Babba will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Bader works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Well, if Bader is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Bader is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ali Babba has managed to free his arm - good work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Bader fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ali Babba sprawls well initially but Bader persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Bader takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bader is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Ali Babba !

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bader's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bader lands a heavy elbow.
Bader takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Bader drops a big elbow. That's hurt Ali Babba ! More shots from Bader and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Thomas Bader!
