Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Connely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jared Kreegans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan Connely! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jared Kreegans! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kreegans misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Connely.
Kreegans will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kreegans bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Connely throws a jab but it's blocked by Kreegans. A looping hook to the body misses from Kreegans. Connely does a little dance to reset his feet. Connely dives in and grabs Kreegans's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kreegans pushes down on Connely's head and hops out. Kreegans lands a jab-cross combination. Kreegans throws a shot to the body.

Kreegans throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Kreegans swinging wildly here.
Connely shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Connely showed some decent athleticism there. Kreegans has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Connely is working away from the top position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kreegans wants to improve his position but Connely is controlling well.
Connely missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Kreegans taking some punishment here, with Connely in his half guard. Connely thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Connely scoring with strikes to the body and head. Connely thows a huge punch but Kreegans dodges it nicely.
Connely not landing any meaningful shots this time. Kreegans has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Connely is working away from the top position though. Connely missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Kreegans avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Connely. Connely misses with a head shot. Kreegans uses the momentum to regain guard. Connely postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Connely throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Connely throwing strikes but missing. Kreegans utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Kreegans is trying to control the position but Connely postures up. Connely is looking to work some ground and pound but Kreegans has wrist control. Kreegans preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Kreegans looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Connely has picked Kreegans up and slammed him! Kreegans can't keep hold of the triangle and Connely manages to pass to side control! Connely misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Connely tries to advance to mount but can't. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kreegans is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Connely lands a few punches from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kreegans takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Connely is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kreegans is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Connely has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kreegans tries to improve position but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Connely creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Connely is chipping away with strikes.
Connely scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Kreegans is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Connely can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
