Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Sotiar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vadim Kharghai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kharghai has chosen Here comes the boom as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Vadim Kharghai told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sotiar with a jab.
Sotiar throws a predictable looking body shot
and Kharghai counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Kharghai looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Kharghai looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sotiar with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Sotiar gets back to full guard.
Kharghai thows a big elbow that misses.

Kharghai throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Sotiar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kharghai gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sotiar is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kharghai is aware though and is defending well.

Sotiar throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Kharghai escapes and throws Sotiar's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Kharghai trying to control the action but Sotiar is working from the bottom.
Sotiar is looking to reverse the position.
Kharghai throws an elbow but Sotiar slips to the side and avoids it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sotiar prevents Kharghai from moving into mount.
Sotiar is trying to get back to half guard.
Sotiar tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Kharghai presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Sotiar tries to lock up and control but Kharghai gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kharghai lands a nice shot to the head.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kharghai takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Kharghai lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Sotiar is rocked!
