Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Justin Case (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Maddox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brian Maddox told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 1, fighting out of New York, Justin Case! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian Maddox! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A leg kick checked by Maddox. Maddox takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Maddox lands a nice hook to Case's body. Case takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Maddox connects with an inside leg kick. Maddox instigates a clinch. Maddox can't find room to land a body shot as Case controls the action.

Maddox keeps control of Case as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Maddox misses with a hook to the ribs.
Maddox tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Maddox throws a punch but it's blocked by Case. Case jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Maddox walks away with a smile on his face. Case gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Case misses the body punch and Maddox holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Case wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Maddox has him pressed against the cage. Case breaks from the clinch.

Case is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Case gets underhooks to prevent Maddox's takedown attempt.
Case jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Maddox walks away with a smile on his face. Case gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Case misses with a body punch
and Maddox counters with a takedown into side control. Case is pushing Maddox's head away, looking to escape. Maddox manages to hold on to the position though. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Case is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Case is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Maddox pulls his head out easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maddox lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Case is looking to get back to is feet but Maddox passes into side control.
Case is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Maddox working the head and body with strikes. Maddox wants to control but Case is keeping him busy. Case looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Case is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Maddox scores with a couple of nice shots. Maddox working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Case looking for submissions off his back. Maddox lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Maddox working Case over with strikes. Maddox is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Maddox throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Maddox is nestled in close to Case, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Case avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Maddox. Case looking for submissions from an awkward position here. That's three minutes gone in the round. Maddox not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Case wants to get back to his feet. Maddox is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Maddox throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Maddox is nestled in close to Case, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Maddox throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Case wants to improve his position but Maddox is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Case has hold of Maddox's hands but Maddox slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Case flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The fighters are battling for position here. Case manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Maddox trying to control but Case is working from the bottom. Case throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Maddox stopping the sweep attempt from Case. Maddox looking to sit in guard and control but Case gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Maddox has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Maddox is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Maddox dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Decent striking displayed by Case there. Case falls off balance throwing a combination
and Maddox counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Maddox. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Case is trying to break free. Maddox has hold of one of Case's legs. Case is fighting the takedown attempt but Maddox gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Maddox wants to control from the top but Case keeps moving. Maddox has gone for a leg lock! Case slips out almost immediately though and dives into Maddox's guard. Case postures up and lands a big shot to Maddox's brow. Case wants to stand but Maddox has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Case chips away with some ground and pound. Case is working Maddox over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Maddox is looking for a triangle but Case pushes his legs off easily.
Case missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Case stands up and waves to Maddox to follow him. Justin Case is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Maddox stuffs the takedown attempt from Case. Case gets slowly back to his feet. Maddox swings for the body but Case moves out of range.
Case throws a sloppy head kick and Maddox moves out of range easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Case throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Maddox counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Case throws a right hand that Maddox ducks under and follows up with a left that Maddox also avoids with ease. Case throws a predictable looking body shot
and Maddox counters with a single leg into guard. Case didn't expect that. Case preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Maddox lands a couple of digs. Case looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Maddox passes into half guard.
Case looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Case looking for a kimura from the bottom but Maddox passes into side control! Maddox working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Maddox lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maddox is working Case over with some ground and pound from side control. Case is trying to improve his position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Maddox cracks Case with a big right hand but Case just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Case tries to improve position but can't. Case sneaks back into half guard. Maddox working over Case with some ground and pound. Case looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Maddox winds up and cracks Case with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Maddox is trying to control. Case wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Maddox maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Case could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Maddox has cracked it and Case is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Maddox!
