Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and dustin hazellett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blaze comes to the cage accompanied by The Dropkick Murphys-The Warriors Code. Johnny Blaze has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Blaze!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, dustin hazellett!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
hazellett tries to clinch but Blaze moves out of range.
A left and a right from Blaze both land. Nice combination.
hazellett tries to clinch up but Blaze circles away and keeps his distance.

Blaze gets a takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
hazellett is trying to maintain the position but Blaze is very close to passing his half guard.
hazellett wants to improve his position but Blaze is controlling well.
hazellett avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Blaze.

Blaze drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Blaze jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

hazellett has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Blaze can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Blaze connects with a couple of short punches.
hazellett is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
hazellett wants to sweep but no luck.
Blaze chips away with some ground and pound.
Blaze might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Blaze takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Blaze would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

hazellett had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Blaze is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. hazellett Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Blaze's back instead.
Blaze tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Blaze closes the distance and clinches up with hazellett, looking for a takedown. Blaze pushes hazellett against the cage but hazellett circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
hazellett punishes Blaze's body with a nice straight punch.
Horrible takedown by hazellett or perhaps it was just good defense by Blaze which made him look bad.

hazellett shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Blaze's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Blaze wants to sweep but no luck.
hazellett controls from within his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Blaze dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



hazellett closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - hazellett lands in his opponent's guard.
Blaze not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Blaze will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
hazellett wants to control from the top but Blaze keeps moving.
hazellett might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Blaze kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

hazellett seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Blaze does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Blaze ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Blaze no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Blaze is refusing to be controlled, as hazellett sits in half guard.
Blaze wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
hazellett tries to throw a body punch but Blaze avoids it by throwing hazellett back against the cage.
Blaze lands a hook to the side of the head.

Blaze turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Blaze manages to end up in side control.
Blaze looks up at the clock and then as hazellett takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Blaze smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Blaze cracks hazellett with a big right hand but hazellett just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Blaze is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt hazellett will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Blaze decides to stand up, so the ref orders hazellett to his feet.

Blaze lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Blaze pulls hazellett into guard.
Blaze wants to get back to his feet but hazellett is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Blaze controls hazellett momentarily but hazellett frees himself.

Blaze has his foot on hazellett's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. hazellett works his way back into a safe position though.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Blaze tightens his grip and picks hazellett up, before dumping him to the ground. hazellett manages to land in guard.
hazellett manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Blaze manages to get himself to full guard.

Johnny Blaze overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Blaze escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. hazellett gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Johnny Blaze has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of dustin hazellett.

and Blaze counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in hazellett's guard now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Blaze throws a right hand that hazellett ducks under and follows up with a left that hazellett also avoids with ease.

Blaze fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with hazellett, pushing him back against the cage.

Blaze gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Blaze uses his free foot to push down on hazellett's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for hazellett.
dustin hazellett has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Blaze wants to control the pace but hazellett is squirming around nicely.

Blaze has control of hazellett's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and hazellett regains control of the situation pretty easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Johnny Blaze showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Blaze has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
