Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Carl Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rey Polamalu!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Polamalu shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gracie is trying to defend but Polamalu finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Polamalu wants to take a breather but Gracie is having none of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Polamalu is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Gracie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Polamalu is working away from the top position though.
Polamalu uses his free foot to push down on Gracie's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gracie.
Gracie manages to regain half guard. Good work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Gracie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Polamalu's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Polamalu's back!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gracie connects with a nice short shot to Polamalu's temple.

Polamalu parries the strikes from Gracie easily there. Gracie is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Polamalu to escape.
