Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simon Sweet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bret Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Simon Sweet! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bret Hart! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sweet is defended easily by Hart. Sweet wants to clinch. Hart with a lazy takedown attempt and Sweet counters with a single leg into guard. Hart didn't expect that. Sweet is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Hart wants to get back to his feet but Sweet is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Hart can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sweet controls the pace. Hart looking for a sweep. Not yet Hart, not yet. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Hart is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Sweet pushing down on Hart's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sweet decides to stand up. Hart misses with a takedown and Sweet counters with a single leg into guard. Hart didn't expect that. Hart is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sweet is controlling him. Hart is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Sweet trying to control but Hart is working from the bottom. Sweet is pushing down on Hart's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hart is fighting to maintain full guard but Sweet has managed to sneak the leg through.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hart is looking to control Sweet's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hart avoid being mounted? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sweet looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hart with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Sweet missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Hart really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sweet. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Sweet looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Hart looks gassed! Sweet thows a huge punch but Hart dodges it nicely.
Hart is trying to get back to full guard. Sweet trying to control from half guard but Hart is working away. Sweet slips a nice elbow through Hart's hands, connecting with Hart's forehead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sweet takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Sweet has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Hart tries to kick Sweet off but Sweet keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Sweet is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Sweet wants to control but Hart is keeping him busy. Sweet looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Sweet passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hart! Hart gets back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sweet is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Sweet sitting and controlling from the half guard. Hart is not content to let Sweet control the position. Hart wants to get back to full guard. Sweet scores with a couple of good hammerfists. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Simon Sweet dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Sweet punishes Hart's body with a nice straight punch. Sweet doesn't manage to clinch there - Hart circles away.
Hart shoots and misses and Sweet counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Sweet. Hart wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Sweet breaks from the clinch.
Sweet shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hart manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Sweet passes easily into side control. Nice work. Hart is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Hart wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hart is staying active underneath Sweet, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sweet looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Sweet missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Sweet is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Sweet wants to control but Hart is keeping him busy.
Simon Sweet has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Nice sprawl there from Hart as Sweet shoots in.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hart shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hart was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Sweet tries to hold on but Hart postures up. Hart tries to control but Sweet wriggling away. Sweet is desperately trying to improve his position but Hart has a good base and remains in mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hart takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Sweet wants to control but Hart is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hart throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Sweet because Hart loaded up on that one. Sweet manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes. Hart trying to control from Sweet's half guard. Sweet has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Sweet wants to stand but Hart is controlling the position. Hart wants to control from the top but Sweet keeps moving. Hart won't allow Sweet to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hart sitting in guard, not really doing much. Sweet utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hart is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Bret Hart has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Hart closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The strikes coming from Hart are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Sweet tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hart wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Sweet is not content to let Hart control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Bret Hart will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
A left and a right from Sweet both land. Nice combination. Sweet fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sweet shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hart eats them both and turns towards Sweet to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Hart instigates a clinch. Hart lands a takedown into guard.
Hart throws and elbow that misses. Sweet uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hart's guard. Nice move by Sweet! Sweet keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hart's head. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hart kicks Sweet off and gets to his feet. Hart doesn't manage to clinch there - Sweet circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sweet stuffs the takedown attempt from Hart. Hart gets slowly back to his feet. Sweet wants to clinch up but Hart keeps it at a distance. Sweet misses with the combination.
Hart shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sweet as he avoids it easily. Sweet moves into the clinch successfully.
Hart is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sweet pulls him back up using the underhooks. Simon Sweet has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bret Hart. Sweet's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Sweet throws a right hand that Hart ducks under and follows up with a left that Hart also avoids with ease. Hart looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Sweet is fending him off so far but Hart persists. Nope, Sweet circles away and we're back to standing. Hart gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Sweet. Hart has his takedown stuffed and Sweet counters with a single leg into guard. Hart didn't expect that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sweet sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hart's guard. Sweet wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hart keeps working. Sweet stops Hart from getting back to his feet.
Hart is staying active underneath Sweet, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Sweet is stalling here. Hart is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Sweet seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Hart has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Hart wants to control but Sweet is keeping him busy. Sweet is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hart is looking to take a break and control but Sweet is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Sweet can't do much from the bottom here. Hart trying to control the action but Sweet is working from the bottom. Sweet tries to escape but Hart is in control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hart misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Hart scoring with punches from side control. Sweet throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Hart looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Hart laying and praying for a moment but Sweet takes advantage and regains half guard. Hart is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
And that's the end of the fight! Simon Sweet showed his dominance in that final round. Well Sweet has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
