PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charles Sheeneasy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Charles Sheeneasy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Danny Day!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day swats away the attempt to clinch by Sheeneasy.

Sheeneasy clinches up against the cage.

Day turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Day manages to end up in side control.

Day is trying to get an arm triangle but Sheeneasy is defending well.
Day wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sheeneasy keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Day working away.
Day throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Day trying to control the position but Sheeneasy is working away.
Sheeneasy is trying to get back to his feet.

Day tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Day works to advance to full mount. Sheeneasy defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Day is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sheeneasy is bucking up trying to escape but Day cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Day has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Sheeneasy's face.
Day postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Sheeneasy looks a forlorn figure.
A nice elbow there by Day.
Poor strikes thrown by Day there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Sheeneasy wants to control but Day is having none of it.
Sheeneasy is desperately trying to improve his position but Day has a good base and remains in mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Day looking to ground and pound but Sheeneasy is blocking nicely.
Day is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Sheeneasy can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
A nice elbow there by Day.
Day landing strikes from the mount and Sheeneasy is in trouble!

Sheeneasy is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Day postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Sheeneasy in real trouble here! The ref calls for Sheeneasy to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Danny Day!
