Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shinji Kagawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rikardo Santinos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shinji Kagawa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rikardo Santinos! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kagawa looks to land a right hand but Santinos moved out of range. A swing and a miss from Kagawa. Kagawa misses with a double jab
and Santinos counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Santinos throws a leg kick that misses. Santinos tries a low kick but Kagawa avoids it. Shinji Kagawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kagawa misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Santinos.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kagawa throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Kagawa shoots in and bounces Santinos off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Kagawa stands and throws Santinos's legs to the side, diving into side control. Santinos is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kagawa is controlling him well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Kagawa works over Santinos's head and body with a nice combination. Kagawa moves out of range of the leg kick from Santinos. Kagawa throws a right and a left that both miss. Santinos is looking to land body kicks. Kagawa looks to land a combination but Santinos avoids it well. Santinos tries a low kick but Kagawa avoids it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Santinos showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Kagawa.
Kagawa closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shinji Kagawa dominated that round. That's time! Kagawa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Santinos bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Kagawa lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Kagawa feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Santinoss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Kagawa misses with a series of wild punches.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kagawa fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Santinos is looking to chop away at Kagawa's legs. Santinos misses with a low kick as Kagawa jumps back. Kagawa throws a lazy body kick and Santinos counters with a good low kick that Kagawa was not able to check. Kagawa misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Santinos throws a leg kick but Kagawa checks it. Kagawa misses with a jab, cross combination.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Santinos tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Santinos is looking to chop away at Kagawa's legs. Kagawa blocks a head kick by Santinos.
Kagawa throws a series of punches but Santinos avoids them all with ease. Santinos throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Santinos pivots, looking for a leg kick but Kagawa is out of range and Santinos settles back down. Kagawa misses with a series of wild punches.
Kagawa shoots in but Santinos avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santinos fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kagawa has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Kagawa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Santinos sprawls well. Santinos wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kagawa gets slowly back to his feet. Santinos tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Santinos takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Kagawa just misses with a punch to the body.
Kagawa throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Santinos lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Santinos tries a head kick but it misses.
Santinos swings away with a leg kick that misses. Kagawa throws a leg kick and Santinos counters with an inside leg kick. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Santinos ducks under a wild hook from Kagawa. Santinos cracks the inside of Kagawa's front leg. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Shinji Kagawa will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Kagawa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Santinos moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Kagawa misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kagawa is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Kagawa lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Santinos throws a low kick, looking for Kagawa's leg but Kagawa calmly moves out of range. Rikardo Santinos has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Santinos lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Santinos ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Santinos tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kagawa catches Santinos with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Kagawa misses with a lunging right hand
and Santinos counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Kagawa is lucky that one didn't land flush. Santinos throws a head kick that half lands.
Santinos takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Santinos will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santinos misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Shinji Kagawa is winning the standup battle so far. No luck with that takedown attempt from Kagawa. Kagawa waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Santinos. Santinos throws a head kick but Kagawa moves out of range.

Santinos ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A slapping leg kick lands for Santinos.
Rikardo Santinos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Santinos throws a chopping leg kick but Kagawa manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Santinos connects with a leg kick. Kagawa looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Santinos throws a leg kick but Kagawa sees it coming and checks it nicely. Kagawa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shinji Kagawa is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kagawa fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Santinos looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Santinos uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kagawa. Kagawa checks a low kick from Santinos. Kagawa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Santinos moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Rikardo Santinos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Kagawa has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
