Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alpha Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brock Rockgroin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Rockgroin's choice of entrance music: "Enter Sandman," by Metallica. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alpha Dog! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brock Rockgroin! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rockgroin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dog to the mat! Dog manages to get full guard. Dog looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rockgroin is one step ahead there. Rockgroin chips away with some ground and pound. Dog is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Rockgroin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Dog wants to get back to his feet but Rockgroin is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Rockgroin postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Dog trying to control the position.
Rockgroin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Dog trying to keep a closed guard but Rockgroin is proving a slippery customer.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rockgroin wants to pass the guard but Dog is keeping the position. Rockgroin slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Dog is not content to let Rockgroin control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dog tries to get back to half guard but can't. Dog tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Rockgroin easily slips into full mount! Rockgroin lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Rockgroin lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Dog hang on? BOOM! Rockgroin connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Dog is wriggling around trying to escape.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Rockgroin cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Rockgroin lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Rockgroin fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Dog is desperately trying to improve his position but Rockgroin has a good base and remains in mount. Dog manages to regain half guard. Good work. Rockgroin winds up and cracks Dog with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Dog on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Dog moves into full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rockgroin lands a couple of decent looking shots. Rockgroin lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Dog looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Rockgroin passes into side control.
Dog is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Dog is breathing heavily. Dog wants to control but Rockgroin postures up. Rockgroin is putting a hurting on Dog here, landing some big shots from side control. Dog manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Rockgroin lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Rockgroin slips a nice elbow through Dog's hands, connecting with Dog's forehead. Dog trying to control here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dog wants to get back to his feet.
Dog has hold of Rockgroin's hands but Rockgroin slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Dog makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Dog. Rockgroin makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Rockgroin is looking to work some ground and pound but Dog has wrist control. Rockgroin postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Dog looking for a sweep. Not yet Dog, not yet. Dog controls Rockgroin momentarily but Rockgroin frees himself. Dog had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Rockgroin is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Dog Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Rockgroin's back instead. Rockgroin turns into Dog and is now in his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brock Rockgroin dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Dog takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Rockgroin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Dog to the mat! Dog manages to get full guard. Rockgroin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dog wants to get back to his feet but Rockgroin is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Dog trying to keep a closed guard but Rockgroin is proving a slippery customer.
Dog working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Rockgroin has passed into half guard!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rockgroin trying to control from half guard but Dog is working away. Rockgroin scoring with strikes to the body and head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rockgroin lands with a punch from half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Rockgroin lands a nice short elbow. Dog tries to get to full guard but Rockgroin has control of the leg. Dog looking for submissions off his back. Dog looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Dog is looking to clinch but Rockgroin is avoiding it.
Dog shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Rockgroin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Rockgroin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Rockgroin scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Rockgroin throwing strikes but missing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dog escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rockgroin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Rockgroin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Dog tries to land a sweep but no joy. Dog has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rockgroin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Dog has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Rockgroin doesn't defend quickly enough and Dog has managed to lock this one up! Can Rockgroin escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Dog on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Alpha Dog!
