Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Keith Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Panch Villa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stone kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I like BEER! Tom T. Hall. Panch Villa will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Stone, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A looping hook to the body misses from Stone. Villa does a little dance to reset his feet. Villa motions for Stone to come forward. Villa throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Villa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Villa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Villa throws a right and a left that both miss. Villa scoring well with a low kick there.
Stone darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Stone misses with a left hand and Villa counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Stone works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Stone swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Villa tries to bum rush Stone with a series of wild strikes but Stone uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Villa throws a head kick that misses. Stone throws a lazy uppercut

Villa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Stone paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Stone will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Keith Stone. That's going to take a lot out of him. Villa avoids a lazy jab quite easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from Stone. Stone closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Villa quickly recovers to half guard.

Villa is staying active underneath Stone, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Stone missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Stone misses with a head shot. Villa uses the momentum to regain guard. Stone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Villa looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Villa is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stone is controlling him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Stone stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Villa swivels though and keeps the full guard. Stone won't allow Villa to get back to his feet. Stone drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stone jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Villa is looking to stand up but Stone isn't so interested in that idea. Stone postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Stone pushes down on Villa's leg and manages to get into half guard. Stone throwing shots but Villa is blocking nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Panch Villa will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Stone takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Villa slips out almost immediately though and dives into Stone's guard.

Stone is working an open guard so Villa takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. A decent looking body kick lands there for Villa. Villa slips under a jab. Stone misses with a body punch
