The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Collins dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Vladimir. That did some damage!
No joy there for Collins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vladimir doesn't manage to clinch there - Collins circles away.
Steve Collins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vladimir is looking to improve his position but Collins isn't that keen on the idea.
Vladimir wants to control but Collins is having none of it.

Vladimir bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Vladimir drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vladimir jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vladimir accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Vladimir wants to control from the top but Collins keeps moving.

Vladimir is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Collins is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Collins has escaped and now he's on top!

Vladimir changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Collins looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Collins is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Vladimir drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Collins manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Vladimir has Collins in his guard.

A decent looking cross lands there for Collins.
Collins tries to clinch up but Vladimir circles away and keeps his distance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Collins throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Vladimir colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Collins as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Vladimir is left battered and dazed whilst Collins and his camp cheer!
