Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Puff Anderson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Arthur Jackson! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Mauricio Rocha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Anderson lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Arthur Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson misses with a wild combination.
Jackson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Jackson throws a poor cross that misses
letting Anderson counter with a right hand. Sloppy strikes from Anderson. Those never looked like landing. Anderson looks to throw the jab but Jackson is out of range. Jackson keeps the fight on the outside. Anderson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Anderson wants to clinch but Jackson slips to the side and Jackson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Jackson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Anderson moves away. Anderson connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Anderson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Anderson wants to clinch. Jackson throws a leg kick that is checked and Anderson makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Jackson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Anderson but Anderson pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jackson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Jackson there as he acknowledges the shot. Anderson throws a lazy head kick and Jackson counters with a big head kick but Anderson shrugs it off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson lands an overhand right. Anderson thuds his shin into the meat of Jackson's side. Jackson takes a jab right on the kisser.
Jackson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Anderson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Anderson tries to keep at a distance but Jackson has taken the fight into the clinch. Nice body punch from Jackson - that landed with a thud.
Jackson landing knees to the body.
Anderson is breathing heavily. Jackson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Jackson has control of Anderson's left arm, preventing Anderson from doing any damage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Jackson is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Anderson frees his head nicely. Oh but Jackson has switched to an armbar! Anderson is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
