Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Richard Drumix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Soares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richard Drumix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drumix shoots in looking for a takedown. Soares tries to sprawl out of it but Drumix keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Soares manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Soares doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Drumix counters with a takedown into side control.
Drumix working the ground and pound but Soares is defending the strikes.
Drumix gets to mount! Soares was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Soares keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Drumix cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Drumix has hold of Soares's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Soares manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Soares is trying to escape the mount.

Soares bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Soares wants to stand but Drumix has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Drumix knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Soares on the ground.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Drumix scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Victor Soares has been cut.
Soares misses with a takedown
so Drumix counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Soares looks gassed!
Soares is trying to keep Drumix in close.
Drumix won't allow Soares to sweep him here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Drumix decides to stand back up.
Victor Soares seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Drumix throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Soares throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Drumix tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Soares is in Drumix's guard.

Drumix has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Drumix wants to sweep here but Soares controlling him for the moment.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Soares pushes down on Drumix's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Soares takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Drumix manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Soares manages to get himself to full guard.

Drumix closes this distance looking for a takedown but Soares circles away.
Drumix rushes Soares and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Drumix has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Soares is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Drumix feints and as Soares raises his hands in defense, Drumix changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Soares escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Drumix gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Drumix sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Soares's guard.

Soares is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Drumix pulls his head out easily.

Drumix uses his free foot to push down on Soares's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Soares.

Soares is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
